Obituary: Adrian Manuel Quintana Quintana peacefully transitioned to his heavenly home on 09, 2016 surrounded by his sisters, his grandson Joseph Myers, and his devoted wife Annie, all of whom had kept a constant vigil during his last days. Adrian was born on 2, 1939 in El Valle Tacupeto Shuoripa, Sonora to Manuela Quintana de Qunitana and Arturo de Vasquez, and was preceded in death by both of his parents, his brothers Sergio Arturo Quintana, and Adrian Manuel Quintana, his sister Aida Luz Quintana, and his step daughter Ida Wright. When Manuel turned 18 he came to the United States as a contract worker with the farming industry. He returned home for a year to serve in the military where he received his military ID or Cartilla Militar. Upon completion of his military service, he continued his contract work in Artesia, Salinas, and Monteca, California. In the early seventies Manuel became a United States Citizen and worked odd jobs until he became a full-time employee with Sky Chef as a forklift operator from 1977 until he retired in 2005. Moreover, Manuel has always been a very spiritual man and attended the Apostolic Church under Pastor Daniel Solomon where he was baptized on 30, 1973. Manuel remained a faithful believer throughout his days. For those who knew Manuel, knew that he had an incredible memory, in which a goal he came close to realizing, was memorizing the entire book of Mathew. He also had a great sense of humor and anyone close to him knew that the man loved his Boxing!!! When there was a family event and boxing was on, you knew to leave Manuel be. Some of his favorite boxers were Salvador Sanchez, Danny Little Red Lopez, and Julio Ceaser Chavez. Manuel also loved watching the television show Caso Cerrado. On 5, 2007 Manuel received a life saving heart transplant from a 19 year old named Adrian. The entire family and especially Manuel, were eternally grateful for this gift. Amusingly, some of his friends would joke around and refer to Manuel as he 19 year old. Manuel married the love of his life, Annie Valdez in of 1978. This union included four Step children; Pastor Daniel Myers and wife Mattie, John Ivory Myers Jr. and his wife Terri Elliott Myers, Ruben B. Myers, and Ida Wright and her husband Frank. Manuel and Annie have 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Manuel is survived by his four sisters. Eva Cruz Quintana, her husband Lucas Campa and their children Arturo Campa and wife Myrna (3 grand nieces), Mercedes Campa and husband Chito Diaz (4 grand nieces), Lucas Campa and wife Carmen (3 grand nieces), Evy Campa and husband Salvador Macedo (1 grand niece and 1 grand nephew), Manuel Campa and wife Lupita (2 grand nephews and 1 grand niece), and Luis Campa (1grand niece and 1grand nephew), of Hemet, California. Vida Teresa Quintana, of South Gate, California, Luz Esperanca Quintana, her husband Rafael Duarte and their children Lily Duarte and husband Francisco Cordova (1 grand niece and 1grand nephew), Manuel Duarte and wife Gladys (1 grand niece and 1 grand nephew), Blanca Lorena Duarte and husband Fernando Campa (1 grand niece and 1 grand nephew), and Erika Zulema Duarte and husband Angel Pernalette (1 grand niece and 1 grand nephew, of San Luis, Mexico and Magdalena Quintana de Garcia and her husband Enrique Garcia and their daughter Zaira Marcela Estrada (1 grand niece and 1 grand nephew) of Yuma, Arizona. Manuel shared a special closeness to Steven Portee, Gilbert Romo, Stephanie Romo and Benny Romo. Indeed, he held a special place in his heart for his former Pastors, Pastor Daniel Solomon, Pastor Pete Lespron, Pastor Santos Navarette and his current Pastor Ruben Correa Sr. Manuel also leaves behind to mourn his passing four sister-in-laws, two brother in laws and their families, and a host of friends and other relatives whom he cared for dearly. |
