Obituary: Ruth E. Quaranta, 73, of Naples, passed away on , 2, 2014 after a brief illness. She was born on 4, 1941, the daughter of Clifford and Frances Patterson, on the family farm in Malta, Ohio. graduating from M & M High School in 1959 she moved to Columbus, Ohio where she met her future husband on the campus of The Ohio State University. She married Robert J. Quaranta, DDS on 11, 1962. lived in Youngstown, Ohio, Washington DC and eventually settled in Park, Maryland where they lived for over 30 years. Ruth worked in many different areas during her life. She started at The Ohio Department of and after she was married she became her husbands dental assistant for many years before they moved to Maryland. She also worked in the office of Shannon and Luchs Real Estate. She and her husband volunteered many hours for both President John Kennedys campaign and for Senator Robert Kennedys campaign. staying home to raise a family Ruth went back to work as a Contracts Administrator for Insituform, East in Landover, MD. her retirement she and her husband moved to Naples, Florida permanently where they enjoyed their time golfing, traveling, and being active in their community and with their church and making new friends. Ruth was an Eucharistic Minister and on the board of the CCW at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Naples and loved all of her time volunteering there. Ruth enjoyed cooking, spending time with family and friends, golfing and cheering for her favorite teams, The Ohio State Buckeyes, The Maryland Terrapins and The Baltimore Orioles. Ruth was predeceased by her parents and by husband who passed away on 25, 2008. She is survived by daughter, Valerie Bell and her husband, Chris, of Tracys Landing, MD; son, Anthony Quaranta, of Naples; grandchildren, Cassie and Christopher Bell of Tracys Landing, MD; brother, Roy Patterson, his wife, Janice of McConnelsville, OH and many living nieces, nephews and cousins. Ruth is also survived by her constant companion and furry child, Brutus. Ruths family wishes to thank the incredible people that work with Avow Hospice of Naples for their truly loving ways and the wonderful care they provided to Ruth. Services will be held at a much later date at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Naples. The family wishes that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Avow Hospice of Naples in Ruths name. |
