Obituary: Lois Poyner, 76, passed away on 24th 2014 in Castle Rock, Colorado. Lois was preceded in death by grandson, Justin Cook, and two daughters, Deana Cook and Diana Williams. She is survived by husband Jim Poyner; sister Fanny Barnett; son Jeff Poyner; grandsons Billy Williams, Jason Cook, and Daniel Poyner; and son-in-law Jimmy Cook, as well as other relatives and friends. Lois loved to go camping, fishing, square dancing, hunting and spend time with her family and friends. Her heart and home were always open for anyone and everyone who knew her. Lois was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother and friend who will be sorely missed. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that money be donated to the Justin Lee Cook Memorials Scholarship. Obituary: Ethel Mae Powledge was born at home in Kim, a small farming/ranching community in southeast Colorado, on 21, 1921. She was the oldest daughter of Ray and Hazel Goodrich and she had two sisters and five brothers. Mae went to school in Kim, graduating from high school in 1939. graduation she moved to Trinidad to attend the Trinidad Community . It was there that she met a handsome meat cutter at the Safeway store, J.C. Powledge. fell in love and were married in Raton, New Mexico, 8th 1940. lived in Colorado until the bombing of Pearl Harbor. J.C. could not serve in the Army so they moved to Portland, Oregon where both J.C. and Mae worked in the ship yards welding to rebuild the 6th Fleet. the war they returned to the Denver area where she lived until her death. Mae went to be with the Lord last morning, 20, 2011. She was preceded in death by J.C., her husband of 48 years, her daughter, Carol Vance, two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Mae is survived by her daughters, Jimmie Mae Cavin and her husband Don, and Jackie Johnson and her husband Chuck, six grandchildren, twenty one great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, her sister Mable Goodrich, and a large extended family. Mae was a devoted Christian lady and her last wish was to go to sleep one night and wake up in Heaven with her Lord. She got her wish and Im sure she is smiling down on us today.
