Obituary: Priscilla Pinto was born in Bellflower, California, on , 2nd, 1981. She was her mothers first born and also the first grandchild in the family. Priscilla was a sweet and playful little girl with an angelic face and a loving nature that remained throughout her entire life. She was twenty-one months of age when her mother, Belinda, introduced her to her little brother, Johnny, and the two became inseparable. grew to be each others best friend, and there are countless photos of them laughing, playing, hugging and holding hands. She entered kindergarten in 1986 and excelled in arts, crafts and mathematics. With her warm and outgoing personality she found it easy to make friends and stayed in contact with many of them well into adulthood. In the summer of 1988 her stepdad, Juan Garcia, joined the family and they took many trips to the beach, the park and to Priscillas favorite holiday destination, Las Vegas. When she was twelve years old, her little brother Kevin was born, and just as she had with Johnny she showered him with affection and helped look after him. She graduated Downey high school in of 1998, and soon thereafter learned that she was pregnant with her first child. On 28th, 1998, Priscilla gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby boy she named Jonathan. From the moment she laid eyes on him it was love at first sight. She may have been a young and inexperienced mother, but she was loving, protective and entirely devoted to her son. He was truly her pride and joy. In early 2000 Priscilla was diagnosed with lupus and began a long and difficult battle. In of 2006, she lost the function of both kidneys and had to start dialysis treatment. It must have taken a toll on her emotionally and physically, but she always maintained a positive attitude and strong will. She was determined to raise lupus awareness and participated in many fundraisers. Even though she was faced with such adversity, Priscilla never hesitated to help others in need. She often collected shoes and clothing from family, friends and neighbors and donated them to charity. She never let her illness stop her from living her life to the fullest and doing the things that she loved the most. She was actively involved in her sons schooling and held a date night with him at least once a month. She always looked forward to going to the movies with her family and her favorite films were Dirty Dancing and Titanic. She was also a fan of scary movies, flashback 80s music, Hip Hop, Banda and Rancheras. She loved warm beach weather, family gatherings, fireworks and dressing up for Halloween. She enjoyed Thanksgiving, but her all time favorite holiday was Christmas. She took Christmas shopping seriously and made sure to buy every member of her family a little gift. On 21st, 2014, Priscilla received a call from St Vincents Medical and learned that they had found a matching kidney. She was so excited and felt like an expectant mother. The transplant on 22nd, 2014 was a success and she named the kidney Kenny. During her six week stay she became emotionally attached to her surgeon and the nursing staff, and they treated her like family. Unfortunately, soon after her surgery she developed complications from calciphylaxis, and on May 9th, 2014, she was transferred to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical . fighting tirelessly for another six weeks she passed away on the night of 24th, 2014. She was surrounded by her immediate family. She may no longer be with us in a physical sense, but she lives on in our hearts, in our memories and in her sons smile. |

Obituary: Marie De Pinto was born on 18, 1926 and passed away on 18, 2016 - on her 90th birthday in Aliso Viejo, California. She is survived by her children: Jeanne, Bernadette & Ranjith. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren: Sonali, Dan, Shanika, Amali, Natasha, Menuka, & Tanisha. She is further survived by her great-grandchildren: Matthew & Ethan. She is the last of her 6 siblings to transition. Marie was born in Sri Lanka to her parents Arnold De Alwis & Amarasinghe Vidanage Premawathie at the height of the British colonial era. She married her husband Clarence on 26, 1948. took up residence in a tranquil, rural village outside of the capital city, Colombo, and settled into a modest life, devoid of electricity and running water. Maries free-spirited, gypsy longing took her around the world via sea & air to such far-flung places as the Isle of Capri, Paris, Rome, and Amsterdam. She traveled through Cape Town, South Africa midst apartheid and shared stories of having used separate toilets and restaurants throughout her visit. Marie was the true Mother Theresa of our family - there are multiple anecdotes from people having seen her welcome strangers off the street, having fed them, cleaned their sores, and sent them off in new clothing. She often sewed handmade gifts, loved beading necklaces and bracelets for her family & friends. She was deeply devoted to her family, profoundly forgiving and kindhearted. Marie was a visionary and deeply impacted our lives and she will be intensely missed by her children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Marie loved humankind and this obituary cannot begin to fully illustrate her boundless qualities. Per her wishes, Marie will be cremated. The date is TBD at this time.
