Barbara Pagliassotti, born May 12, 1957 gained her wings on November 10, 2010 in California. Barbara was 53. Tags: #Barbara #Hospital #Pasadena #California #Byron #Velma #West #Always #Marion #Loraine #John #Barbaras #High #Roberta #Perhaps #Nicholas #Isabella #Effect #Next
Obituary: To Barbara Pagliassotti, the entire world was a stage. An expressive, optimistic, and uninhibited individual, she was a performer in the theater of life. To everyone around her, she seemed to be eternally happy, and she willingly shared that joy with anyone whose life she touched. For Barbara, bringing out the best in any situation was as easy as offering a smile, a witty remark or the twinkle of an eye. And with just those simple gestures, she could evoke the most pleasant of emotions. Barbara really mastered the art of living and had great fun in doing so.

Barbara was born on May 12, 1957 at St. Lukes Hospital in Pasadena, California. Her parents were Byron and Velma Pagliassotti. Barbara was raised in West Covina, California. Even as a child, Barbara had the ability to lift the spirits of all those around her. She was raised to be warm, caring and friendly. She couldn help but capture everyones attention. She was definitely a little bit of a show off, but in doing so, she succeeded in entertaining her entire family.

Always a good playmate, Barbara was easygoing and fun loving. She managed to lighten the mood wherever she was, even during family squabbles. She seemed to have a knack for bringing compromise and erasing tense situations around the house. Due to a generous dose of common sense, Barbara managed to find a satisfying solution to basic problems. Barbara was raised with three siblings. She had two older sisters, Marion and Loraine and one younger brother, John.

All of Barbaras playful good humor carried over into her childhood. She was possessed with an outgoing personality, a lively imagination and a mellowed enthusiasm for life that allowed her to be constantly on the go. As a result, Barbara experienced a rather active childhood, and this suited her very well. She took part in softball and swimming. She was a campfire girl.

Ask anyone who knew her from school and they would tell you that Barbara was a class cut-up. She didn do it to be unkind or to garner all the attention. Rather, Barbara simply enjoyed others laughter and the sounds of her friends and acquaintances having a good time. It could be said that for Barbara, grades may not have been the most important thing to her, but she really did enjoy her school experience. Since experience was Barbaras best teacher. She enjoyed hands-on learning and applying the practical approach to knowledge, rather than getting caught up in heory. Barbara graduated from West Covina High School in 1975. She enjoyed some courses more than others, having favorite classes and teachers. Her favorite class in high school was P E.

Barbara never actually encountered a stranger in her dealings with people. She was drawn to individuals and crowds, using her gregarious, adaptable and outgoing personality to captivate her audience. This quality allowed Barbara to continually develop new relationships, ever widening her circle of friends. Barbara delighted in her role among all her acquaintances, because she viewed them all as potential spectators for her performance. Whether it was a story, a joke, a song or just plain fooling around, Barbara was always right at home putting on a show among her friends. Barbara utilized her interest in others as a great way to connect with them. Later in life, she became friends with Roberta Cuesta. Barbara loved sharing life and having her home filled with people she knew.

Perhaps the reason Barbara related so well to children was the fact that she never really completely grew up herself. The ability to be just a kid at heart helped her in raising her own children. Barbara was blessed with one child, one son Nicholas. She was also blessed with one grandchild, Isabella Ann. Barbara had the ability to focus her attention on the present moment. If she was spending time with the kids, thats where all of her attention was directed. Barbaras compassionate side prevented her from being a strict disciplinarian, and she could turn just about any situation into a playful, learning experience. She could spend hours entertaining them with fun and creative play. In fact, Barbara had a knack for turning some of those nasty old chores into games.

At work, as in life, Barbara was a real people person. she had a very successful way of dealing effectively with others, and her enthusiasm and energy was often contagious. Barbara liked to see herself as something of a virtuoso. When dealing with various projects and problems, Barbara was an adaptable realist, using her common sense and trusting her experiences and impulses to uncover the correct answer. Barbaras talent for being a down to earth thinker, allowed many around her to see Barbara as an excellent problem solver. Her primary occupation was customer service.

Barbara enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. An arts and crafts type, Barbara liked creating and making things. Her favorite pursuits were quilting and swimming. Barbara was content to enjoy her hobbies alone but was also willing to share her interests with others.

Barbara felt excited and challenged by sports. Even if she wasn the best, Barbara loved to participate and thoroughly enjoyed the competition and the pleasure of being around other people. Barbara relished the opportunities where she could make an impact, and she would often push herself to play above her abilities. A quick thinker who understood the basics, Barbara never seemed to get caught off guard, even when confronted with unexpected conflict. In high school, Barbara played softball. Recreational sports included swimming. Barbara was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed watching her favorite events whenever she got the opportunity. Tops on her list were football.

Barbara had an endless appetite for new and different activities. She was always ready to join in the fun and add her flair continued...

Obituary: Louis S. Paglialonga went to the Lord peacefully at Twin Cities Hospital in Templeton on , 16, 2016 at the age of 86.

Louis was born on 9, 1929 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania to new Italian immigrants Frank and Jennie Paglialonga. He spent his formative years in the Pittsburgh area graduating from McKeesport High School before joining the United States Army and beginning a long career in the steel industry. He started as a low-level worker at U.S. Steel, and later went on to work for several major steel companies including Firth Sterling, Harvey Aluminum, International Light Metals and Martin Marietta where he first retired around 1991.

He became the first Italian Roman Catholic in the United States to work in upper level management in then steel industry when U.S. Steel promoted him in 1965, which was featured prominently in the Wall Street Journal. several promotions he became involved in labor relations work, which became his passion for the remainder of his career.

He relocated to San Pedro, California in 1969 after a corporate transfer to nearby Torrence. moving to California, he completed his undergraduate studies at California State University, Long Beach earning a degree in Business Administration. In 1976, while at Martin Marietta, he met Cheryle Orr and fell in love with whom he would marry two years later on 17, 1979 in Lincoln, Nebraska.

In 1988 he relocated to Atascadero, but continued to commute to Torrance until his initial retirement. a short retirement he decided to return to the workforce and found employment for several more years with the California Association of Employers, and then finally his own consulting business, Longstraw Personnel Services.

Since retiring, he has lived in Atascadero and has been active in the community. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, San Luis Obispo for 26 years where he sang with the Praise Singers, worked extensively with the Church Session, Synod, and Presbytery, and was active in several mission endeavors such as Heifer Project International.

In retirement, he explored his love for singing and was a member of the San Luis Obispo Vocal Arts Ensemble and West Coast Mennonite Men’s Chorus, and took numerous music classes at Cuesta , which he enjoyed tremendously. He also developed an interest in theater and appeared in A Shot in the Dark (2005) at Cambria’s Pewter Plough Playhouse as well as You Can’t Take it With You (2005-6), Over the River and Through the Woods (2004-5), and Damn Yankees (2002-3) at the San Luis Obispo Little Theater.

Friends will remember him for his outgoing nature and witty jokes. He was an avid sports fan, and closely followed current events and politics. Always a dutiful Christian, he spent hours each day reading, studying, and praying. He was proud of his family and was a devoted husband.

As a result of his hard work he was able to enjoy extensive world travel throughout his retirement years. His fondest trip was to his ancestral home of Pietracamela, Italy in order to reconnect with his roots.

He remained physically active until this past when he was hospitalized at Twin Cities Hospital in Templeton. Three of his four children arrived to visit him, while he struggled to remain conscious for more than a quick moment. On his final day he woke up wide-eyed, having received the blessing of a glimpse of heaven. He spent his final hours visiting with family and friends, and waiting for his last child to arrive. By the end of the day, his last son arrived and was able to say his final good-byes before he passed gracefully.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryle Orr Paglialonga; his brother, Nicholas P. Paglialonga; his children Karen Kildoo, Louis P. Paglialonga, Phillip O. Paglialonga and Michael Paglialonga; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Obituary: Born to Emilia de Leon and Maximo Cruz of Taytay, Rizal, Philippines on 28, 1930, Paulina was the youngest of 2 brothers (Enrique and Leonides) and t wo sisters (Constancia and Filomena). As a young girl, she used to help her family by peddling fresh baked bread. She would go to school barefooted due to poverty. When World War two began she quit school. During her adolescent years Paulina lost her mother. To help her family, Paulina did laundry for U.S. troops in exchange for fruits and chocolates. In 1952, during Taytays town fiesta, she met her future husband Federico Pagkalinawan. Shortly after they were married and started a small apparel business. Paulina had a very good sense of style. She was a fashionista. She would create her own designs, patterns, color schemes of Ready To Wear line of clothes and distribute them to clothing retailers in Manila and provinces. She manages the design and production of the clothing business. The partnership was a success and soon after they started a family. Paulina and Federico had seven children: Elvira married to Renato Nanez, Nancy, Arnel married to Nil Umali, Elsa married to Randy Naranja, Elisa, Ferdinand, and Numer married to Avelina Ballestros. She has twelve grandchildren: Kimi Pagkalinawan, Khrizette Pagkalinawan, Keiko Villanueva, Sergeant Mark Louie Pagkalinawan, Private Peter Paul Pagkalinawan, Justin Kristoffer Naranja, John Andre Pagkalinawan, Charlina Pagkalinawan, Jayson Renne Nanez, Kristin Janeel Naranja, Kim Danielle Pagkalinawan, and Jaira Aezel Pagkalinawan, and two great grandchildren by the names of Lucas Drake Pagkalinawan and Liam Charlize Quintos. She was referred affectionately as Lola by her grandchildren. Lola was the definition of an over indulgent grandmother, showering us with love and attention. She was an unbelievable cook with a great sense of humor. At times we would find her singing, cooking, and dancing at the same time. As much as her children try, no one can live up to the flavor and taste of Lolas cooking. A natural fighter since the day she was born, through it all she lived a life of inspiration. The last 13 years of her life, Lola was unable to communicate, but yet at the same time she was able to convey her unconditional love to all of us, forgiveness and the importance of keeping family together. As a fashionista, she loved her flowy dresses, sweaters, scarves, and matching jewelry. Lola had a collection of lipsticks that not only match her skin but her moods. At the early evening of 27, Thanksgiving Day 2014, Paulina surrounded by her loved ones, smiled to her family on earth and drew her last breath to join her husband in heaven.
THANK YOU, Lola for loving your grandchildren the way you did. We love you, we will miss you and you will never be forgotten. THANK YOU, Inang for your unconditional love and support for us your children. We love you, we will miss you and you will never be forgotten.
