Obituary: Stephen Wade Pranger passed away at his home in Seattle, WA on , May 14, 2017 surrounded by family. He was 70 years old, born on 13, 1946 in Honolulu, HI to Richard E Pranger and Alice Kapio Sinclair Pranger. He came to the mainland with his parents and siblings in 1951 when he was only 4 years old, growing up in Auburn, WA. He was a loving husband to his wife Catherine for 42 years. Together they raised their family in Ballard, WA. Stephen was a caring and devoted father and grandfather of four children and seven grandchildren, always putting their needs and wants before his own. He loved family get-togethers and watching the children play in his big back yard. He loved it when people would come over and visit and welcomed all who walked through his door. He was a hard-working member of UA Local 32 Union since 1975, and retired from University Mechanical in 2006 after 28 years of service. He started at Universal Mechanical as a journeyman plumber and quickly worked his way up to Superintendent. He oversaw and managed several major and prestigious projects that he was very proud of, including Seattle's Columbia Tower and the St Regis Princeville Resort on the island of Kauai, HI. He worked on Kauai for over two years enjoying the pleasures of his homeland heritage and family while he was there. He was a highly respected leader, a trusted employee and friend to all he worked with. He found joy in several hobbies and interests, including fishing, classic cars, camping, weight lifting and just tooling around in the garage. He loved launching his boat out at Shilshole to fish in the Puget Sound and brought home plenty of fresh salmon to enjoy with the family. He restored old classic cars and proudly displayed them at car shows throughout Washington State. Stephen was preceded in death by his brother Roger Pranger, his sister, Sydney Bechtold, his father Richard Pranger, and his mother Alice Pranger. He is survived by his wife, Catherine Hayes Pranger, two daughters, Kari Graham, his son-in-law Jeff and Dana Pranger, and two sons, Stephen Pranger Jr. and Brett Skinner, one brother, Tom Pranger, three sisters, Jacqueline Wetmore, Sharon Ayers and Erlene Smith, Brother-in-law Dallas Hayes and wife Dianna and seven beautiful grandchildren, as well as a wealth of nieces and nephews and extended family. He will be deeply missed by all of his family and a multitude of friends and loved ones both near and far. |

Obituary: Alice Kapiolaninapua Fulasaga Sinclair Pranger went to be with her Lord on morning, 26, 2016 at her home in Auburn, WA. She was 93 years old, born on 14, 1922 in Honolulu, HI. She married her husband Richard in Honolulu in 1939. Together they had 6 children before moving to the mainland in 1951. Here, she worked for The Boeing , retiring in 1983 after 26 years of service. She and Richard transferred their membership from the Honolulu Church of God to the Auburn Church of God, also in 1951, and was an active member, supporter and servant of the church for 65 years. She served faithfully under many pastors, all of which grew to love and depend on her and Richard for their support, commitment and leadership. She loved music, she sang and played the piano, and served as a mightily anointed and powerful worship leader and choir director for many, many years. Alice was a loving wife for 66 years to her husband when he passed. She was a caring and devoted mother of seven children, always putting their needs and wants before her own. She was a perfect example of hospitality and generosity, always gathering people around her table. The welcoming atmosphere of her home was enjoyed by many throughout the years. Alice was creative and hardworking. She was an accomplished seamstress, and an incredible cook and baker. She found joy in trying new recipes and feeding everyone that walked thru her door. She learned and enjoyed flower arranging, ceramics and cake decorating, and made a wedding cake for one of her daughters. She even dabbled a little in entrepreneurship as a Princess House Crystal Consultant. Alice was preceded in death by her son, Roger Pranger and her husband, Richard Pranger, seven sisters and one brother. She is survived by her two sons, Tom Pranger and Stephen Pranger, four daughters -Sydney Bechtold, Jacqueline Wetmore, Sharon Ayers and Erlene Smith, 24 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all of her family and a multitude of friends and loved ones, near and far. |
