Obituary: When the Good Lord says its my time, Im ready to go. That day came for Richard Dick Park Sr. on Good , 2, 2010. Dick was born on Feb. 1, 1932 at Corning, New York. He was the youngest of 6 children of Cornelia and William Nelson Park. Dick passed away at home with his wife, and loved ones at his side. Dick was honorably discharged from the Army as gunner, squad leader and platoon sergeant, receiving the Korean Service Medal Bronze Star. He was honored to serve his country. Soon after, Dick married the love of his life, Carolyn Anne Payne. would have celebrated their 55th Anniversary in . In eight years they were blessed with five children: Numerous camping trips, as a family it created a love of the mountains that never diminished. Dad drove us over rivers and hills and we were safe with Dad at the wheel. All spiritual gifts came from our loving Heavenly Father, along with much guidance from the Church of the Nazarene. Dad showed us how to love the Lord and treat everyone with kindness. He constantly asked God for strength and wisdom. He was our rock and example of how to live life as a Christian and Patriotic American. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; brother, Bill, who was killed in WWII; sisters, Connie and Janet. Dick is survived by his wife, Carolyn Park of Moxee and children: Rich Park Jr. of Snohomish, WA, Susan Davila of Naches, Coleen (Ron) Granholm of Brownstown, WA, Matthew (Erin) Park of Lake Stevens, WA and Stephen Park of Yakima; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Also brother, Jack (Agnes) Park of Pavilion, NY, and sister, Beverly (Harry) Decker of Bath, NY, numerous nieces and nephews both in Washington and New York. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. on , 9th at Keith & Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. A Graveside Service with full military honors will be held at Terrace Heights Memorial Park at 10:00 a.m. , 10, 2010. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Keith & Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. The family would like to thank Memorial Hospice for their over extended love and kindness, especially David, whom Dick loved and shared personal moments. Also Pam, his buddy; Hilary, Vanessa, Dr. Waber, Melonie and Sarah and all those who cared so tenderly. Also the East Valley Fire Dept. for their many trips to assist.
