Obituary: Daniel Jude Pometto was born in Arlington, Virginia, on 14, 1957, to Anthony Louis Pometto, Jr. and Vivian Marie Vissing Pometto. Dan grew up on Westlawn Drive in Falls Church, Virginia, with his sister Ann Marie and his brothers, Tony, Pete, and Frank. He had many friends in the neighborhood and had many more from his days at St Philips Catholic School and Falls Church High School. He was a hardworking man who also knew how to enjoy life. He began his career working for his parents at Silver Spring Glass Shop, and continued in the glass business working at Banner Glass, Miles Glass, and ending at S. Albert Glass in Maryland where he spent most of his career. He loved S. Albert Glass, and always spoke highly of the owners, Mike and Stanley Albert, who were like family to him. He met his wife, Tonya Rosalie Curry, at Miles Glass, and they were married May 18, 1991. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them. Dan enjoyed playing volleyball, camping and fishing on the Shenandoah River, and going out with his friends on his ATV. He was a faithful Redskin fan, win or lose. Dan and Tonya shared a love of nature and maintained their beautiful yard together. Their many pets have enriched their lives (cats, dogs, birds, and assorted wild animals). Dan had a generous heart and was always ready to help others. More than five years ago, Dan was diagnosed with colon cancer, which eventually spread to his liver and his bones. a long battle, Dan passed away peacefully on , 27, 2015, at the family home in Falls Church, attended by his wife, Tonya, and siblings, Ann Marie and Frank. He is survived by his wife, Tonya and her brothers Bernie and Shawn; his siblings, Ann Marie, Frank, Peter, and Tony; and several nieces and nephews. Dan is also survived by an Uncle Herman Pometto and two Aunts, Frances Pometto, and Dorothy Pometto along with numerous cousins on both sides of the family. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Dans memory to Capital Hospice at http://www.capitalcaring.org/join-us/donate/. Visitation will be 1, 2016, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at the National Memorial Park King David Memorial Gardens, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042.
