Obituary: Okie Martin Plaster, 93, of Martinsville (Pleasant Grove Community) passed away , 19, 2014 at her residence. She was born in Patrick , 10, 1921, the daughter of Luther H. Martin and Callie Ratliff Martin. She was a long-time member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church and Christian Womens Fellowship. She loved traveling, gardening, fishing and family gatherings and was well known for her cooking skills. She was a collector of salt and pepper shakers from all over the world and also had a collection of over 200 snowmen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marion C. Plaster; a son, George William (Ice Cream) Plaster; a daughter-in-law, Shirley R. Plaster; a granddaughter, Lindy Plaster; two sisters, Gladys Shough Price and Mary M. Bryant; three brothers, Fletcher Martin, Troy Martin and Johnny Martin; and a son-in-law, Cecil Cornett. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Ann Cornett of Martinsville; three grandchildren, Lisa Osborne and husband, Dustin of Martinsville, Robbin Hall and husband, Steve of Martinsville and Danny Plaster of Fieldale; one sister, Vera M. Plaster; one brother, Arthur Martin and wife, Frances, all of Patrick Springs; two great-grandchildren, Callie Heath and Will Osborne. The family will receive friends , 21, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at McKee-Stone in Martinsville and other times at the residence, 215 Oakie Drive, Martinsville, Va. The funeral service will be held , 22, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Christian Church with the Rev. Jim Pence officiating. Obituary: Joyce Eubank Plaster, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went home to be with the Lord on , 11, 2014. Born 11, 1935, she is survived by her husband of 60 years, Eddie R. Plaster and her son, Stephen L. Plaster. Also left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Stephen and wife, Danielle, Amy Oliver and husband, Zachary, and Emily Zawodny and husband, John. Also she leaves three great- grandchildren, Gracie May Plaster, Jackson James Oliver and Jacob Edward Zawodny, as well as a sister, Peggy Osborne. She was loved by so many. The family will receive friends , Oct. 13, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen , 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231, where services will be held , Oct. 14 at 12 noon.
