Obituary: Maria Morada Papa, 88, of Stafford passed away peacefully on 6, 2017 after a prolonged battle with Alzheimers. She was born on the Guimaras Island, Philippines on 24, 1929 to Donata Nonescan and Juan Morada. She was the fourth child born out of five. She has one surviving sibling. Maria had a full life filled with love. She was widowed twice. She married Hilario Garde in 1950 and they had four children together. She was widowed in 1957 and remarried two years later in 1959 to Eufemio Papa. had six children together and she was widowed for the second time in 2007. She is leaving behind eight surviving children, Nona McHenry, Lisa Allison, Elvira Lieb, Anselmo Papa, Juan Papa, Josephine Ciambetti, Perla McDonald, and Bart Papa. She also leaves nineteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Her loss leaves a great gaping hole where her presence used to be. She was our storyteller, our peacekeeper, a great creator of many things and our light through the storm. Her faith was a driving force for who she was. She walks with God and those that went before her. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on , 9, 2017 at Mullins and Thompson Service, Stafford. Obituary: Robert (Bob) Arthur Paolicelli, of McLean, VA passed away on , 7, 2017. He was 58 when he left to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Bob was born 21, 1958 in Washington, DC to Arthur Louis and Doris Emily Cooper Paolicelli. He grew up in Fairfax, VA with his sister Lynn, and brothers Bill and David. Bob loved to joke that he didn grow up with an athletic bone in his body and, if he did, he wouldve had it removed. His love and passion growing up was music. Drawing inspiration from The Beatles, he learned to play guitar by ear at a young age. Along with music he would spend time in the woods during rainstorms to dig up and collect old bottles. The Paolicelli household was a loving and close-knit family that was only made larger by the pet chickens, dogs, a duck, and any injured bird. Bob and Bill had a knack for bringing home frogs, turtles and salamanders as well. Bob graduated Fairfax High School in 1976. As an adult, Bob continued his love for music by playing guitar and singing vocals in various bands. Talented with his hands Bob was a skilled craftsman working trade shows, detailed carpentry and creating walking canes. There were many joyous moments in Bobs life, a few of which had an immense impact. The first was the birth of his son Corey, whom he loved with all his heart. The second was marrying his beloved wife and best friend Tina Santmyer in 1997. Most important to Bob was when he came to know and dedicate his life to Jesus Christ. Bob would spend hours reading the Word and talking scripture with anyone. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Doris. He is survived by his wife Tina, son Corey, stepson Justice, sister Lynn, brothers Bill and David, and numerous extended family members. Services will be held , 14 at National in Falls Church, VA. The viewing will be at Noon, with the service to begin at 1pm. Burial will take place on site after the service at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Samaritans Purse (smaritanspurse.org), the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (nationalmssociety.org) or the Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org). under the direction of National , Falls Church, VA. |

Obituary: BETTY JANE PAOLANTONIO Passed away on , 29, 2014 at the age of 90 at the Capital Caring Hospice in Arlington after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Betty was born on 3, 1924 in Morgantown, WV. graduating from Point Marion High School, Pennsylvania, she moved to Washington DC to work at the Post Office. She met her future husband, CDR John F. Paolantonio, at the United States Naval Academy, and they were happily married for nearly 48 years. Her husband preceded her in death in 1993. Betty was the loving mother of four sons and one daughter. John P., Lawrence P., David A., Albert L., and Lisa L., (Dr. Christopher Beiner) all of the metropolitan area. She also was the proud grandmother of Michael (Tina), Andrew, and Toni and great-grandmother of Christian, Trevor, and Ethan. In addition to raising her five children, Betty worked many years at Snelling and Snelling Employment Agency in Old Town Alexandria. her husband's death, Betty moved to Williamsburg with her dear companion Robert L. Hagan who predeceased her earlier in 2014. For the last 5 years, Betty was lovingly cared for at the Mt Vernon Sunrise Assisted Living facility in Alexandria. Visitation to be held at Demaine , 520 S. Washington Street, Alexandria on , 5 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. with funeral service to follow , 6 11 a.m. at Mt Vernon United Methodist Church, 2006 Belleview Blvd., Alexandria.
