Obituary: Gerald Crandall Pyne Our dad who we loved with all our hearts passed away peacefully at the age of 88, on , 16, 2010 in his home with his family surrounding him. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. He was born on 21, 1922, the son of Rueben Samuel Pyne and Mary Sofia Crandall. He met his sweetheart Francis Rawlins James in Logan, Utah while attending the AC, known as Utah State University. were married 2, 1942 and later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on 14, 1952. Our dad loved our mom and has missed her immensely these past 4 years after she passed away in of 2006. Dad was enlisted in the Navy shortly after they were married and this took them to Pensacola, Florida where he served and was trained there. He built his home with his dad in Orem and has lived in that home for 55 years. He attended Spencer Elementary and Lincoln High School in Orem. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints and held various callings many in the scouting programs and School Presidency. Many memories our dad shared with us: He loved fishing at the East Portal at Strawberry Reservoir, camping, and especially the Deer Hunt. We shared many vacations throughout the Western States as a family. Our dad worked very hard and long hours at Geneva Steel as a Millwright for 38 years and then would come home and work till dark on his Fruit Farm. Our dad taught us the value of work and to never quit till you finished the job. He loved life and enjoyed the simple things it could bring. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His advise and wisdom, his hugs and his handyman abilities to fix anything and the I sure do love you’s will be truly missed. We will miss you dad and will remember all the memories and things you taught us. Our dad came from a family of six sisters and three brothers with only one sister, Shirley Maynard of Murray, still living. Our mom and dad left a legacy of 4 children, Judy (Richard) Backus of Orem, Randy (Marcia) Pyne of Spanish Fork, Kim (Kathleen) Pyne of Orem and Trina (Joel) Warner of Orem. From these children came 20 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren. services for our dad will be held under the direction of Walker Sanderson of Orem. The funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on , 21, 2010 at the Orem Cascade Stake , 481 East , Orem. A viewing for family and friends will be held , 20, 2010, from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Walker Sanderson , 646 E. 800 N. Orem and morning, 21, 2010 from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Obituary: Francis Rawlins James Pyne Loving wife, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Francis Rawlins James Pyne passed away peacefully at her home , 12, 2006, surrounded by her loving husband and family at the age of 81, after a lifetime of accomplishments and service. Francis was born on 6, 1925, to George Webb and Leah Rawlins James in Paradise, Utah. The 10th of 13 children. There she spent her entire childhood, raised on a farm, together with her other 12 loving brothers and sisters. were not rich in monetary items, but as a family, rich in love and happiness. She graduated from Cache Valley High School. A beautiful young lady that loved to dance. On 2, 1942, she married her loving husband, Gerald Crandall Pyne, and was later sealed, 14, 1952, in the Salt Lake Temple. recently celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary. During World War II she lived in Pensacola, Florida and briefly in Oklahoma while accompanying her husband in the armed forces, and has lived all her life in Orem. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many organizations; a visiting teacher, presidencies, and a loving primary teacher for 20 years. She worked for Alpine School District in the school lunch program as a worker. Everyone enjoyed her vivacious smile, her double helpings and enormous chocolate chip cookies. She was a volunteer for the Utah Valley Regional Medical Pink Ladies Auxiliary and Pink Shop. She also managed the Utah Valley Medical Snack Bar for many years and retired. She was a devoted mother and supportive wife and expressed that motherhood was her greatest blessing. She enjoyed nothing more than being with those she loved most - HER FAMILY. She served usually quietly and in the background. Her great love and willingness to serve always thinking of others more than herself. She was a blessing in the lives of her children and all she touched. We can still see Mom lifting and holding a great-grandchild in her arms and on her lap. Giving another kiss and another hug of encouragement to one of her grandchildren, and her laugh, and incredible smile to see and hear that robin sing. The incredible annual wiener roast on the farm of cut pruning limbs was one of Moms favorite things to do. We will miss her always for her sunshine and her smile and her awesome potato salad. Thanks for all the beautiful memories, Mom. She gave a lifetime of service to her husband, children and to her Heavenly Father. Her children was always considered, Her Jewels. Through all of her suffering she showed great courage, patience, endurance and exceeding faith. Her influence for good was felt in the way she treated others with love and dignity. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is the last surviving of her 13 brothers and sisters. Bill, Bessie, Leon and LeRoy (twins), Ken, Merlin and Melvin (twins), Lee, Reed, Don, Winona and LaVar James. Gerald and Francis have four children all four of whom still survive: (Richard) and Judy Backus Randy and (Marcia) Pyne Kim and (Kathy) Pyne (Joel) and Trina Warner From two people that fell in love also came 20 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. services for Francis will be held under the direction of Walker Sanderson of Orem. The funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on , 15, 2006, at the Orem Cascade Stake , 481 East , Orem. A viewing will be held for family and friends evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Stake and from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Interment will be held in the Orem City . Obituary: Dee Pyne 1929-2008 Our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather passed away peacefully on Feb. 15, 2008, surrounded by family. Born in Orem, Utah, May 19, 1929, to J.D. Pyne and Ethel Park Pyne. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1947 where he was President of his Senior Class. He married his sweetheart Helen McFarlane on 22, 1948. Dee was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a member and past President of the Jaycees, the recipient of the1958 Jr. Chamber of Commerce DSA Award, a civic leader, and local businessman. He owned Dee Pyne Auto Sales and sold automobiles most of his life. Dee will be remembered for his love of his family and friends and his colorful character. He dedicated the last 2 years to tenderly watching over his sweet wife Helen. Rain or shine he faithfully visited her several times daily at her care center where they had the rare opportunity to fall in love all over again. Dee is survived by his wife, Helen, and children Debbie Rohbock, Dee Randy (Ann) Pyne, Michelle (Skip) Dunn, brother Max Pyne, 12 Grandchildren, and 22 Great Grandchildren. services will be held at 11 a.m. Thurs., Feb. 21, 2008, at the Walker Sanderson , 646 E. 800 N.
