Obituary: James C. Purkey Pop born 5, 1929 in Meeker, Colorado to John Frank Purkey and Josephine May Hawkins Purkey, passed away on 25, 2008 surrounded by his family. Jim attended school in Colorado and later graduated from Meeker High School in 1946. He was very active in sports and lettered in most of them, he was a member of the FFA, Do-Si-Do Club, and the Drama Club. He was the Student Body President and was voted most likely to succeed. Jim served in the U.S. Navy for 2 years, in Denver, Colorado and San Diego, California. He worked with his family in the meat and livestock operation in Meeker, Colorado. Jim was employed at the Spanish Fork Packing Plant and Deseret Meat plant for a combined 27 years. retirement he continued to cut meat until the age of 77. He also worked in the Rifle and Craig sale yard as an auctioneer. He had many hobbies such as searching for Indian artifacts, farming, hunting, bull riding and other rodeo events. He also loved old tractors. He enjoyed serving on the rodeo committee and working with meat for the city celebrations. He was well known for his pit BBQs. Jim was married to Junabelle Barnett for 20 years, and were later divorced. He is survived by his sons Jim(Jan) Purkey of Milburn, Utah; and Jerry (Laurie)Purkey of Spanish Fork, Utah, also his daughter Kathy (Paul)Johnston of Spanish Fork, Utah. His brother Bryce Purkey of Meeker Colorado, and his sisters Betty Mitchell of Murray, Utah; Beverly Peace of Carbon Dale, Colorado; Janet Rippy of New Castle, Colorado; and Saundra Murray of Silt, Colorado. His grand children Shane (Tracy) Bunker, Cristy Johnston, Nikki Purkey, Cassie Purkey, Shad (Lacey) Edwards, Cody Purkey, and Paige Purkey. His Great-Grandchildren Chase (Jenny) Bunker, Jacob Bunker, Kaitlyn Bunker, and Jordan Simmons, and his Great Great Granddaughter Brindly Bunker. He is preceded in death by his father John Frank Purkey, and his mother Josephine May Hawkins Purkey. Also his brother Harry Purkey, and sisters Patsy Purkey, and Helen Karren. Graveside services will be 30th at 11 a.m. at the Evergreen Cemetary: 1997 South 400 East in Springville Utah. Obituary: Louise Baldwin Purdue "Grandma Lou" passed away on 27, 2016 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She always greeted everyone with a warm smile and humor and purpose in her step when she walked. Grandma Lou was born on 31, 1921 to John and Helen Baldwin. She married her high school sweetheart Paul Purdue on 8, 1941. Together, they raised four girls that were their pride and joy. Grandma Lou's career was spent as a dental assistant working with Dr. Byron Burmester. She loved the outdoors - spending time gardening, golfing, fishing, and traveling. Her greatest joy was her family. Christmas was one of her most favorite times of the year including the shopping! Grandma Lou leaves a legacy of great memories and her genuine love for everyone she met. When anyone commented on her age, she replied "That's a lot of summers!" Grandma Lou is survived by daughters Sharon Orton (Kent) Scottsdale, Arizona, Barbara Revene (William) and Janet Call (Clinton) both Salt Lake City, Utah; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one sister Norma Bennett (Glen) ville, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul, daughter Connie Astin, three brothers Elmer Baldwin, Floyd Baldwin, Byron Baldwin, and grandson Daniel Orton. Obituary: Melila Nicholas Nicho Austin Purcell, our little angel, went home to his Heavenly Father on 13, 2017. Nicho was born on 26, 2017, to the proud parents of Wuki Purcell and Taylor Snow. He brought so much joy and laughter into our lives and his sudden departure has left a hole in our hearts that will never be truly healed until we see him again.
