Obituary: Preston Leon Pulliam of Dallas, Texas passed away on 26, 2016 at the age of 69. He lived life with a fullness and sense of giving unknown to most. He was born on 11, 1947 in Hardtner, Kansas to Dale and Eleanor Pulliam. He was the oldest of four boys, which included Skyler, Marty "Doc", and Kelly Pulliam. He was the Valedictorian of Capron High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Oklahoma State University, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma of Law. He worked as an attorney in many roles throughout his life including at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in Dallas. But his life's work was in improving the lives of others. Since 2008, Preston was the primary benefactor of the Metropolitan Community Church in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Thanks to his generosity and his dedication to the well-being of the LGBT community of Santo Domingo, the church was able to accomplish amazing things, including: •Making great strides in social justice through testifying before the nations Senate on equality concerns of the LGBT community. •Organizing and leading protests for human rights and gender-related issues. •Partnering with HIV/AIDS organizations on education and prevention campaigns. •Major outreach and services to the LGBT Haitian community. •Providing clothing and food for the homeless. Through Prestons generosity, many lives have been changed as Gods unconditional love for all people was proclaimed boldly. Thanks to Preston, the church became a beacon of light shining brightly for the LGBT community of Santo Domingo. Preston is survived by his brothers, Skyler Pulliam of Dallas, Marty "Doc" Pulliam of Enid, and Kelly Pulliam and his wife, Patty of Alva; five nieces and nephews, Ashley Withers and her husband Robert of Dallas, Sarah Pulliam of Dallas, Emily Pulliam of New York City, Kasady Bradford of Alva, and Kade Pulliam of Chicago; a great niece, Layla Withers of Dallas, and a great nephew Kellen Bradford of Alva. Preston is predeceased by his parents, Eleanor and Dale Pulliam. We will gather with friends and family to celebrate Preston's life at Sparkman and Hillcrest in Dallas on , 2 at 10:00 am. A viewing will take place on 1 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the same location. We will conclude his celebration of life and lay him in his final resting place on , 3 at Alva Sacred Heart Catholic at 1:00 pm. Obituary: Lois Virginia Murphy Pulliam Lois Virginia Murphy Pulliam, 88, of Dallas, Texas died peacefully , May 30, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Lois was born on 6, 1925 in Dendron, Va. to Robert Lee and Mary Lucille (Cotten) Murphy of Wakefield, Virginia. Lois attended Wakefield High School and Pan Am Business in Richmond, Virginia. She worked for Fannie Mae in Richmond for several years before she married F. Preston Pulliam in 1945. During the course of their marriage they resided in Arlington, Alexandria, and Warrenton, Virginia. Lois's most cherished childhood memories included the times she spent with her beloved brother, Lawrence. Later Lois devoted herself completely to the raising of her three daughters. She took great pleasure in visiting and caring for her four grandchildren. Lois enjoyed traveling around the world, including trips to England, Austria, and Hong Kong. Seeing the Great Wall of China was another highlight of her life. She volunteered for many years at the Warrenton Thrift Shop, Fauquier Hospital, and the Red Cross Blood Bank. In 2004, Lois moved to Dallas, Texas where she resided at The Plaza at Edgemere. She had extra attention from caring friends, Evalina Herrien and Vicki Winkler. In 2013, she moved to the extraordinary care home of Weismer where she was attended by loving caregivers Terry, Gladys and Rose, along with more extraordinary attention from the Hospice Plus team headed by Christy Samuel. Lois is survived by her three daughters and spouses, Deborah Del Colliano and Michael Del Colliano of Alexandria, VA; Nancy Sanders and Rodger Sanders of Dallas, TX; Mary Davis and Harold Davis of Chadds Ford, PA; grandchildren, Ross Pennington, Grace Sheehan, Dillon and Marguerite Davis. She will also be dearly missed by her former husband, F. Preston Pulliam of Winchester, Virginia. A private service will be held at R.W.
