Obituary: Honorable husband, dedicated father, caring grandfather, veteran and teacher, John Price died night at the age of ninety-four, after a life that embodied the best of what it is to be a man. His marriage to a beautiful French girl, Arlette, lasted a lifetime; they stayed in love and shared everything until she passed in 1993. had a son together, to whom they provided love, support and guidance. He helped put his grandchildren through college, and still is. His life philosophy was simple and can be summed up as do your job, be attentive to your family, and enjoy your time off. It is almost impossible to live a life as well as he did. John Price was the son of two Lithuanian emigres and found work early at a factory in Connecticut before attending three years of college at Michigan. The war started, and he joined the Navy, where he became a dive bomber pilot and served in the Pacific during WWII, flying off of a carrier against Americas enemies. He also served in the Pacific fleet during the Korean War. He was a Navy pilot for 22 years. Somehow between the two wars he managed to meet his bride in Boston, where they were an instant couple. When he retired from the Navy, he went back to school and received a degree from George Washington University. He started his second career as a high school teacher in Fairfax Virginia, where he taught Physics and Math. Because of his calm manner and concern for his students, he became one of the most respected and popular teachers in the school. He retired from the teaching profession and traveled with his wife until health problems slowed them down. John is survived by his son and daughter in law; three grandchildren; and two nieces, all of whom he loved with all his heart. He was grateful for his friendships formed in Navy, and especially for those with his domino playing buddies in Lake Jackson. He will be sorely missed. He will be buried in Arlington National in Virginia next to his wife, as he wished. |

Obituary: Joe Bob Price, age 75, life-long resident of Plano, died 28, 2012 at the East Texas Medical in Tyler, Texas. Joe Bob was born on 20, 1937, the son of Frank Price and Lurene Rice Price. He was a retired Insurance Agency owner. He is survived by his loving wife Deanna of Gun Barrel City. Also surviving are his two daughters, Jill Price and Jan Eckensberger and her husband Scott and by his granddaughter, Evy Eckensberger, all of Plano; his brother, Jack Price and wife Betty of Waxahachie; his aunt, Helen Wiggs of Garland and by his niece, Elizabeth Sullivan of Austin. It is befitting that Joe Bob's memorial service should be held at the First Christian Church in Plano because growing up in the church was an important part of his life. He left the following written recollections for his family and friends, "I was raised in the First Christian Church. As I recall, the church had stadium seating with the adults sitting in the front and us kids sitting in the balcony. When we made too much noise, I can remember making eye contact with my dad up front and I thought Uh-Oh." Frank Price must have been the disciplinarian in the family because Joe Bob also wrote, "I remember going home with a big red "F" on my report card in citizenship. Mother would not sign it, and I had to take it to Dad. He told me,"You don't have to learn anything, but at least you could behave!" Joe Bob later became a junior deacon and a full deacon in the church so some of the Good Book must have eventually rubbed off on him. graduating from high school in Plano, Joe Bob attended college at East Texas State University, now Texas A&M, Commerce where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternal Order. He returned to Plano and purchased the Buddy Carpenter Insurance Agency. Maybe the relationship with Buddy helped Joe Bob develop his well deserved reputation as a prankster. You were always afraid to turn your back on either of them because they were legendary for plotting mischief. On a more serious side, Joe Bob was a faithful Rotarian serving as president of the Plano Rotary Club and also served on the Collin Appraisal Board for 19 years. He gave back to the community in so many ways. Visitation will be at the Ted Dickey home on evening, 2nd from 6 until 8pm. A memorial service will be held on 3rd at 1:30pm at the First Christian Church. The family will greet friends after the service. Obituary: JIM D. PRICE Born 21, 1932 in Blue Grove, TX to Ruby Lee Crump and Charles (Dutch) Price. Most of his early years were in Sweetwater, Texas. high school graduation, went to work at U.S. Gypsum as a lab tester where he stayed 4 years. Then decided to attend The University of Texas at Austin where he worked his way through with part-time jobs. Graduated in 1959 with a BBA degree in Personnel & Industrial Management. While at Texas, he met his future wife (Phyllis Ann) who also obtained a BBA degree in 1956. Jim and Phyllis had two children (Shelley Ann and James Russell). Those children grew up and married wonderful partners and produced 3 wonderful grandchildren. Went to work with Southwestern Bell Telephone in Dallas, Texas in their staff assistant training program where he learned of all departments over the course of a year. Assigned to Traffic Department. some years, Jim went to work at Chilton Credit Bureau Services where he managed several bureaus over the next 10 years in Texas City, Beaumont, Tucson, AZ and Reno, NV. When TRW bought out Chilton, Jim was transferred back to Dallas, TX where he went to work for Caterpillar and held various other jobs at Redmond Industries and personnel placement firms. During the 30 years he lived in Richardson, TX, Jim worked with the Boy Scouts of America and spent every vacation going with the boys to places in New Mexico and Wyoming, etc. until his son, Jimmy, became an Eagle Scout like his Dad. Jim has always enjoyed hunting, fishing, racecar driving (raced at Laguna Seca in California) and photography. Reading was very high on his priorities and he usually read at least 4 books per week. In later years, he enjoyed relaxing and drinking coffee with his many friends and acquaintances. Jims parents and brother died before him. Maisie Price (Roys wife) remains in Florida. |

Obituary: A perfect beautiful baby girl was born Oct 9th, 1996 to a family so excited to have her grace their lives. Especially her big brother, 2 and 1/2 years old at the time, who simply called her " My Baby." Jessica was immediately loved and adored by all, as she always would be for the rest of her life. One fateful morning at 2 months of age, our baby would be found near death in her crib. 9-1-1 was called. Our baby was hospitalized for 3 months and had suffered massive damages that no one would fully understand until 18 years later with new genetic testing became available. We were happy to get our precious baby home again, but her life and ours would be forever changed. She would be special and have nurses and machines and unusual needs. Years have gone by and many struggles, sometimes very difficult and life threatening have been courageously conquered by our strong little girl; the most amazing person I've ever known. There were tough times and great times too. Jessica brought a bright shining light wherever she was. She was upbeat and positive by nature. And, oh how she gave back the love she was shown. She stole the heart and admiration of every person that crossed her path. Oh, how she enriched this world. She loved upbeat music, movies, stories, and dance. Her very favorite character, Dora, made her flash many smiles. She had a bit of a naughty quality as well, though; she loved to eavesdrop or "ear hustle", as her nurse, Wanda, would say. And instead of cute girlie movies, she loved action movies; Pacific Rim was her favorite! She would watch that and smile so long; you'd think her face would hurt. And no one better interrupt THAT movie. Jessica got sick one last time. And as strong as she was, would not survive. We will never forget you, little flower that brightened our lives. You are in Jehovah's memory. We will soon see you again. Rest now until that beautiful moment where we can kiss and hold you again. A whole beautiful young lady you will be. How excited we will be. Until then, we wait and remember you always with bright smiles like you always gave to us. We love you forever and always. |
