Obituary: Estelle Pope, 90, of Austin, Texas passed away 3, 2016. She was surrounded by her loving family at St. Davids North Austin Hospital when she passed on to be with the Lord. Estelle was born in Georgetown, Texas on 15, 1925 to parents William (Bill) and Minnie Dodson. Estelle first met the love of her life as a young child in Georgetown, Texas. At age twenty she married Ernest Pope on 27, 1946. Throughout their almost 70 years of marriage they were almost never apart. Estelle grew up in Georgetown, Texas. She graduated from Georgetown High School. She often spoke fondly of her time working at Hodges drug store on the square in Georgetown where she worked at the soda fountain. She was proud and often spoke of helping with the war effort by building bomb boxes at Capital City Lumber in Austin during World War II. Estelle was a long time member of Skyview Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and served as secretary for a few years. Estelle enjoyed gardening, vacations with her family, often in the Rocky Mountains, camping, fishing, and sightseeing. Later in life she enjoyed day trips throughout central Texas to see wildflowers, the lakes, and the beauty of the hill country. Estelle, throughout her life always had a smile for everyone. She was always loving, caring, and forgiving of others. Always putting her husband and family first above all else. Estelle was preceded in death by her mother and father, William (Bill) and Minnie Dodson, husband Ernest Pope and son, Kenneth Pope. Estelle is survived by a son James Pope and his wife Shirley, daughter Jackie Reid and her husband Lawrence, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. |

Obituary: DOROTHY ANN POPE Dorothy Ann Pope, Memaw to those who knew her, went home to be with her Lord on , 24, 2011. She was born May 29, 1912 in Dodson, Texas. She was the second of four children of L.A. and Nola Hunt. She attended school in Wellington, Texas and graduated second in her class from Wellington High School. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of fifty-six years Frank A. Pope, her brothers Raymond and Roger Hunt, her sister Bessie Hunt Johnson, her daughter Faye Pope Reeves and son-in-law Aubrey Reeves, her granddaughter Robin Reeves West, and granddaughter Kelle Jo Hawley. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Odessa, TX. She was a beautiful example of the virtuous woman of Proverbs 31. She was always a lady, and kind and gentle on every occasion. She was an excellent seamstress and cook. She won many blue ribbons at Fairs for her quilts. However, she always said her familys only claim to fame was that her uncle, Dr. William Hunt of Tupelo, Mississippi delivered Elvis Presley and his stillborn twin. She often laughed about it costing $15 because it was a complicated birth. Dorothy and Frank owned a jewelry store, The Village Jeweler, in Ruidoso, NM from 1963 until 1992. retirement they moved to Wolfforth, TX. Frank died in 1996, and in 1998, Dorothy moved to Odessa to live with her daughter and son-in-law RayeAnne and Bentley Hawley. She made many friends in Odessa at First Baptist Church, 6th and Jackson Church of Christ, Bible Study Fellowship, and her bridge club. Memaw is survived by her daughter RayeAnne and son-in-law Bentley Hawley, granddaughter Becky Reeves Gass and husband Lance, granddaughter Leslie Hawley Wilson and husband Mark, grandson Rex Lamberti and wife Jodi, grandson-in-law Rick West, great-grandchildren Christopher Carpenter, Adam and Alex West, Kristen Wade and husband Nick, Jarrod Gass and family, Justin Gass and family, and Drake Gass, Case, Kenzi and Landri Wilson, Regan, Jett and Jax Lamberti, and great-great-grandchildren Abigail and Allison Wade. A Memorial Service will be held , 29th at 2 PM at Hubbard-Kelly with Church of Christ Minister Benny Keck officiating.
