Obituary: Winona (Nona) Frances Pirtle was born 19, 1935 to parents Alton and Vivian Armontrout and passed away on 7, 2015 at age 80. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Frances Richard (Dick) Pirtle, son Rand Aldon Nieman and son-in-law Jack Kennedy. Nona worked for many years in the child care industry as a director and trainer of staff. She also worked for Seniors Helping Seniors in her later years. She enjoyed homemaking, crafts, gardening and children. Nona will be lovingly remembered by her four remaining children Terri Nieman Kennedy, Rodd Nieman, Guerry Pirtle, and Cody Pirtle (Carl Arthur), daughter-in-law MLisa Reed Nieman, grandchildren Brandon Nettles, Brandi Nettles, Reed Hood, Jacque Kennedy, Randy Ray Hood, Jocelyn Kennedy, Reed Nieman, and Audra Nieman, great-grandchild Brooklyn Kennedy, sisters Ann Lindley and Jane Hancock (Shelly), as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews, and many friends who seem like family. Known as a kind, generous and joyful optimist, Nona was an angel on earth. She was devoted to family and church, and because of the example she set, people wanted to be better. She was known for her good eye for decorating and for her strawberry cake! She worked tirelessly advocating for working women and their children. She was innovative in her over 40 years in childcare, always striving to make centers and staff enjoyable, educational, safe, fun and creative for the families served. An inurnment memorial will be Feb. 5, 2016 11:00 am at the DFW National , led by Peri Phifer. Memorial donations may be made to the Cathedral of Light, 2570 Valley View Ln, Dallas, TX 75234. The family wishes to thank the wonderful women at Harris Hospice for their tender care during the last year, as well as her doctors John M. Joseph and Joseph Surdachi for their devotion and care over the last 16 years. |

Obituary: Willard Eugene Pirtle, age 85, of Plano, passed away , 31, 2012, in a Plano hospital. A funeral mass will be held at 12 noon, , 5, 2012 in the North Chapel at Calvary Hill with burial following on the grounds. the service, friends are invited to lunch at the home of Bob Pirtle, 7601 Hamner Lane, Plano, TX 75024. The family will receive friends for dinner and visitation 6:00 to 7:00 pm at Sparkman , 1029 South Greenville Avenue, Richardson, TX 75081. A rosary will follow at 7:00 pm. Willard was born 18, 1926, in Honey Grove, Texas to Jeff Pirtle and Nettie Raspberry Pirtle. He grew up in the Dallas area where he graduated from SMU with a degree in Civil Engineering. Willard married Esperanza Rivas on 24, 1955. traveled the world living in Venezuela, Singapore and Indonesia as well as several cities in the United States, always returning to their beloved home, Dallas, Texas. Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Esperanza Pirtle of Plano, Texas; son Bob A. Pirtle and wife Margaret of Plano, Texas; daughter Faith Denis of Los Angeles significant other Rod Zalunardo, California; grandchildren Elizabeth Pirtle, Kelly Pirtle and Robert Pirtle of Plano, Texas and Grace Denis and Yannick Denis of Los Angeles, California. Mr. Pirtle is also survived by best friend and brother, Jeff Pirtle and sister Haloise Pirtle. He was preceded in death by one sister, Marjorie Gentry. He was a proud veteran who served in the United States Army and the Merchant Marines. He loved to be with his family and friends and was a wonderful husband and father. Obituary: Jeff A. Pirtle, Jr., 92, of Mesquite, Texas died , 31, 2015 in his home. The family will greet friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Sparkman in Richardson. services will be held , 5, 2015 10 a.m. at Sparkman with interment to follow at Calvary Hill in Dallas. Jeff was born 25, 1922 in Honey Grove, Texas. He was the son of Jeff A. Pirtle, Sr. and Nettie Lee Pirtle. Jeff served in the United States Navy earning several medals. which, he earned his BBA from SMU and worked in outside sales for Coca Cola Bottling most of his career. Among his accolades, he and his brother, Willard, were both Free Masons. Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, Jeff and Nettie Pirtle; wife, Margaret Pirtle; sister, Marjorie Gentry; and brother, Willard Pirtle. He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Keen; sister, Haloise Books; grandchildren: Brian Thomas, Janay Foster and Julie Thomas; five great-granddaughters and many nieces and nephews. Flowers will be accepted; however, those who choose may make donations to the American Diabetes Association. under the direction of Sparkman Richardson Directors. |
