Obituary: James Lewis Pipkin III passed away 4, 2003 at the age of 50 following a brief illness. Jim attended the Lowell Whiteman School in Steamboat Springs, Colorado and graduated from Trinity University. He produced and directed KSATÂs PM Magazine before joining Grubb & Ellis, where he was an industrial specialist for more than 15 years. He was a strong supporter of wildlife management and conservation programs, including activities for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and served numerous board positions, including president and treasurer, for Medina Ranch Incorporated. Jim loved nature and sought adventure. His friendliness and warmth touched many people from all walks of life who now mourn his loss. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Elizabeth and their daughter Lauren Pipkin. He is also survived by his father, Dr. James Pipkin, Jr. and his wife Claire Regnier, his mother, Leslie McLeod, mother-in-law Kathleen Griffin and Dr. Robert Griffin, aunt and uncle, Reverend and Mrs. David Douglas, Sharron & Ray Lafreniere, Patricia and Vernon Brady and Camille Tyler along with numerous cousins and countless friends. Obituary: DENISON - Fred E. Pipkin, 80, went to be with his Lord, , 16, 2012. Visitation will be 6:00PM to 8:00PM, , 19, 2012 at Bratcher in Denison, TX. services will be 10:00AM, , 20, 2012 at Mt Pleasant Baptist Church, 2401 W. Morton St., Denison, TX, with Rev. Rusty Denny officiating and burial at Cedarlawn Memorial Park , 5805 Texoma Parkway, Sherman, TX, to follow. Fred was born , May 13, 1932 in Denison, TX to Lewis & Yuma (Prewitt) Pipkin. He graduated from Denison High School in 1949. He attended Paris Junior for two years prior to enlisting in the Navy where he served four years before moving back to Denison in 1955. Fred worked for the Yellow Jacket Boat before hiring on at Safeway where he worked for 39 years before retiring in 1997. He was an avid Yellow Jacket fan as he attended every game for over 45 years before he was too ill to attend this past season. He was also an avid fisherman, which he had great joy in doing. He loved to camp and for several years the family enjoyed being together at Sulphur, Oklahoma. He played slow pitch softball until the age of 65, enjoyed watching sports such as the Texas Rangers, Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys. He was happy when he could play horseshoes and washers. Fred was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church; he avidly loved to be involved with anything to do with the upkeep and loved to go on outings with the mens group. He loved to sing praises to the Lord. Fred enjoyed traveling to Denton with the Denton Lunch Bunch and also enjoyed the morning breakfast bunch until he was too ill to attend. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Ruby, daughters Deborah and husband Mike Shearer of Denison, TX, Diana and husband Mike Sikes of Houston, TX, Linda John of Houston, TX, Paula and husband David Shaw of Sherman, TX, Joanna and husband Chet Spillers of Sherman, TX; sisters, Joyce Sikes of Denison, TX, Julia Brouer of Denison, TX; Fifteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; Brother James Pipkin, sons Michael Byrd and Fred Pipkin II and longtime friend Jackie Walton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mt. Pleasant MBC. |

Obituary: Lea Hunt Pipitone went to be with our Lord on , 3, 2015. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by family after valiantly battling neuroendocrine cancer for nine months. Lea is survived by her two daughters, Kelsey and Addison, and Addisons fiancé, Matthew McDaniell, her parents, M.E. Jim, Chaplain, Colonel USAF/Ret. and Rosemary Hunt of Willis, Texas, and her brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Grace Hunt. She is also survived by her late husbands family, Guy and Renee Pipitone and Dan and Patricia Pipitone and their children and grandchildren. Lea was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Pipitone, whom she has now joined in Heaven. Lea was born on 4, 1955, in Tucson, Arizona. As the daughter of an Air Force Chaplain, Lea spent her formative years traveling and living in many international and domestic cities. She graduated from LSU, where she was a member of Delta Gamma sorority, with a BS in Marketing. college, Lea moved to Houston and pursued her career as a systems analyst and team leader at Texaco and Exxon. Subsequently, she joined Ernst & Young as a senior manager in IT consulting. In 1989, she married the love of her life, Paul, a partner in Andrews Kurth LLP, whom she met on a blind date. lovingly raised two daughters and shared many years of happy marriage before Pauls untimely death in 2006 after bravely fighting the battle against esophageal cancer with Lea by his side. years of dedicated volunteer efforts in school and community activities, Lea rejoined the professional world directing marketing and fundraising events for Aid Houston. Lea will always be remembered for her bright smile, infectious laugh, tenacious spirit, faith in God, and unbridled enthusiasm for life - from her tennis matches to her enjoyment of good wine. As her legacy, Lea leaves behind two beautiful and accomplished daughters and innumerable friendships that she nurtured, as manifested by the outpouring of love and support by her friends and family throughout her battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held on , 10, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary at Chapelwood United Methodist Church, 11140 Greenbay, with a reception to follow in the Parlor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Caring Bridge, an organization from which Lea and her family and friends benefitted immensely during her battle with cancer and which her family hopes will continue to benefit others facing similar circumstances. |
