Obituary: Margaret Yeager Pierce, age 89, passed away 6, 2017. Margaret was born in Pecan Wells to Henry and Mary Perkins Yeager on 12, 1928. She married John Pierce, Jr. in Hamilton on 18, 1943. Over her lifetime Margaret worked numerous jobs. She was a cotton picker, waitress, cook, nurses aide, and genealogist. Margaret enjoyed being a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, American Legion Auxiliary, the Hamilton Historical Commission, Hamilton Genealogy Society, and the Hamilton Association. She was preceded in death by her husband Johnny Pierce, her granddaughter Jonni Nell Cox, great granddaughter Katelynn Watson and great grandson Merritt Pierce, parents, and 2 brothers and 4 sisters. Margaret is survived by her three daughters Margie and husband Marvin Payne of Cranfills Gap, TX, Mary Henrietta and husband Roy Cox of Venus, TX, Bonita Cavett and husband Glen of Hamilton, TX; and one son Tom and wife Liz Pierce of Cranfills Gap, TX; two granddaughters Danette Bird and Christi Hickman and five grandsons Bobby Crabb Jason Pierce, Trent Pierce, John Michael Watson and Danny Watson, and Chuck Cavett. She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild brother Toby Yeager of Brooksville TX. sisters: Martha Marie Brassie of San Angelo, TX and Betty Fulgham of Katy and Brother Kenneth Ray Yeager of Udall Kansas. Obituary: Margaret Jean Pierce passed away , 14, 2011 at Midland Memorial Hospital. A lifelong resident of Midland, she spent the last three years at The Village at Manor Park. Jean was born 11, 1922 in Munday, TX to Posey and Roxy Williams. She was raised and educated in Munday, TX. While attending Texas State Womens in Denton, TX, she met Joe Bill Pierce, a strapping senior at Texas A&M, and he was truly the love of her life. were married from 1942 until his death in 2000. She was a lifelong member of First Christian Church, where she was an active member in the womens fellowship and sang in the choir. She also volunteered as a Pink Lady at Midland Memorial Hospital. Her other interests included various bridge, book and flower clubs. Jean loved to travel and loved to entertain in her home. Her happiest times were in the middle of her family laughing, singing and dancing. Jean is preceded in death by her husband of nearly 58 years, Joe Bill Pierce; grandson, Mark Wade Choate III; her parents, and siblings; Jack Williams, Rupert Williams and Kane. She is survived by daughter, Cindy Choate and husband Mark of Palos Verdes Estates, CA; son, John Pierce of Midland, TX; grandchildren, Courtney Knapp and husband Mike of Valencia, CA; Kaysie Fitzpatrick and husband Gary of Coto de Caza, CA; Morgan Pierce of Midland, TX; Jarrett Pierce and wife Jessica of Houston, TX; Kyle Pierce and fiancée Caitlin Egan of Midland, TX; great-grandchildren, Michael and Hayley Knapp, Mark and Erin Fitzpatrick, all of California; sister, Charlotte Willson and husband, Perry of Dallas, TX; also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews of California and Texas. |

Obituary: Manuel J. Pierce, 93, passed away on May 21, 2012, born 14, 1918 in Niagara Falls, New York to parents Anna and Louis Pierce. Manny was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Preceded in death by his wife, Pauline, after 51 wonderful years of marriage. Survivors: sons; Greg and wife Julie, Larry and wife Lisa, daughter: Karen Pierce Ellison, twelve grandchildren including Kevin, Marla, Brock, Amber, Kira, Sage, Trey, Kindle, Pierce, Trace, Tyce and Ansyn and eight great-grandchildren including Jordan, Keaton, Parker, Trevor, Caden, Mara, Banner and Brycen, sisters; Tess Garber and Ecille and her husband Ralph Shapiro, brother; Harold and wife Phyllis as well as many devoted nieces and nephews. Manny was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1941 and attained the rank of Captain and served in the Armys Signal and Air Corp during World War II. He received the American Defense Service metal. For 45 years, Manny was active in the sales of ladies ready to wear. He served as the Chairman of the Board of the National Exhibitors Association and Regional Vice President of the National Association of Womens and Childrens Apparel Salesmen (NAWCAS). He was a member of the congregation of Temple Emanu-El in Dallas for more than 55 years and he was a choir member there for 25 of those years. Service for Manny will be held at Temple Emanu-El on May 25, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. with Rabbi Stern officiating. Burial will follow at Sparkman Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. At the request of Manny and his family, in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimers Association or the Music committee of Temple Emanue-El, Dallas. |
