Obituary: Emmett Wayne Philpott left for the most wonderful journey of his life, , 17, 2017. He has traveled the world many times, but this time there will be no comparison and no turning back. He is in Heaven exploring its wonder and beauty. Hell be waiting to guide our grand tour when we meet again. Wayne aka Mr. Magic loved to entertain. His passion was making people laugh. He never met a stranger. He directed skits involving unfortunate (pre-warned) audience members, he performed comedic routines that would leave you holding your belly to relieve your laughter pains, and for years was Master of Ceremonies for Baylor Universitys coming Ceremonies. But most of all he loved performing Magic Tricks and Card Tricks for kids. He would leave them wide eyed and in awe of what they witnessed. For those of you who knew him, I bet you heard a funny explanation of how he lost his finger. He told so many stories, Im not sure even his kids know what really happened. For the last several years, Wayne has lived in a Senior Living Community. He struggled with Dementia, but that didn squash his sense of humor. The other residences and staff looked forward to meal time when Wayne would dish out witty one liners that would surprise and amuse those around him. He was still a big kidder up until the very end. Wayne left us peacefully with loved ones by his side. He leaves behind his children, Paula Blye Philpott Durrett, her husband Craig Durrett, of Houston, Laran Ray Philpott, his wife Karen Ruth Jones Philpott from Nashville, TN, Genna Philpott of Rowlett, TX, his granddaughter Lauren Dell Horner Hoffman, her husband Dustin Joseph Hoffman, and his great granddaughter Della Ruth Hoffman also from Nashville, TN. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and cousins scattered across the country. Enjoy your friends & family reunions in Heaven, and we will see you again. You made an imprint on the hearts of those who loved you. You will not be forgotten. Wayne Philpotts final resting place will be at the National on Veterans Memorial, in Houston. There will be a Celebration of Life Service at South Main Baptist Church (Chapel) on the , 27, 2017 at 1:00 PM. Obituary: Dorothy Philpott, 76, of Yantis, passed away , 3 in Albany, Oregon. She was born to James and Annie (Martenson) Crane in Walnut, Illinois. She had six siblings. Dorothy attended school in Illinois and then went to work for Mobil Oil Corporation as a computer programmer. She and her family had lived in Mexico, Belize, Arizona and Texas. Dorothy enjoyed cooking, golf, and especially fishing. She was a professional Bass N Gals lady angler for ten years. She is survived by her husband, George; sons Douglas Fox of Oregon, Lincoln Fox of Maryland, George Philpott Jr and Suzanne Simons of Texas, Rosengrant of Pennsylvannia and Greg Philpott of New Jersey; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers Tony, Jay, and Nyles Crane and sister Bobbie Littou. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her sisters Carol and Susan. Memorial contributions may be made in Dorothys name to the American Cancer Society. |

Obituary: Robert W. Philpot, Jr. (BOB), 22, 2012, Bob passed peacefully in his sleep at home after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He survived by his wife of 32 years, Elaine Philpot, son, Ryan Philpot and wife Morgan, daughter, Chelsea Philpot, and his five beautiful grandchildren, his mother, Beverly Philpot, and siblings Lynn Pueschel and Steve Philpot. Bob cherished the times with his family, watching anything sports related, but his biggest passion was running. He ran many marathons, and loved spending time with his running family.
