Obituary: Jack Merrill Palmer, loving husband and father, died on 6, 2005. He was born at Ft. Mills, Corregidor Island, PI on May 5, 1922. Jack graduated from Peacock Military Academy, San Antonio and from West Point Military Academy in 1947. He married Marion ÂBunty Browne in 1948. Jack served in the United States Air Force as a pilot. His military career consisted of service during World War II, Korea and the Cold War Era. leaving military service, he joined the civil service at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio. He worked in the early implementation of computers. retiring from civil service, he was an Associate Professor at San Antonio in the computer field for many years. He was a member of St. DavidÂs Episcopal Church and his involvement in the Episcopal Church included service as a lay reader, usher and EFM graduate. Jack had a wonderful sense of humor, and was gentle, loving and caring with everyone he met. He is survived by his wife, Bunty; son, Bruce Palmer of Austin, Texas; sister-in-law, Connie and husband, Joe Maverick of Wimberley, Texas; sister-in-law, Thelmarie Browne of San Antonio; cousin, Annette Taylor of Littleton, Colorado; and numerous nieces and nephews. |

Obituary: Ines Pinat Palmer Dallas, Denton, Navarro Texas Ines P. Palmer, 86 passed away on 10, 2017 Catholic Rosary and visitation will be at Sparkman Hillcrest (Dallas) on 14, 2017 6pm to 8pm. will be at Sparkman Hillcrest on 15, 2017 at 12:00 noon. A Catholic interment at Restland Memorial Park (Dallas) will follow. Catholic Deacon Larry Harmon presiding. Ines P. Palmer, daughter of Felipe Pinat and Josefa Torres was born on the island Mandawe Cebu, Philippines on 20, 1930. Ines had two sisters and two brothers. As a teenager she had a front row seat to the ravages of World War II in the Philippines. She turned this hardship into a positive throughout her life. She immigrated to the United States in search of opportunity after WWII. Sponsored by her beloved uncle, Rear Admiral Jerry A. Steward and beloved aunt, Basila Torres Steward of Freestone , Texas. Her early travels to Austin, Texas and Leech, Lake Minnesota by car were special memories upon settling in the U.S. She spent every weekend driving from Dallas to Red Lake in Freestone to visit with her Aunt Basila and Uncle Jerry. This tradition became a regular family car trip. Ines was a devoted Catholic her entire life. She kept her relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ close to her heart always. She enjoyed and shared this with her family and friends. She loved to pray and attend Mass and knew God was always with her. Ines graduated from Dallas St. Paul School of as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (C.R.N.A.) and continued her career as an Anesthetist till the age of 70. She took great pride working at area hospitals with her medical friends and colleagues with whom she stayed connected the rest of her life. Medical patient James Martin Palmer Sr. introduction to his son led to the marriage of Ines to James M. Palmer Jr. and the great loving relationship with her in-laws whom she called Mom and Dad. were one of the most powerful influence in Ines life, she cherished them forever. Four children were born and became her biggest pride and joy. Angeline Ruth (1952), Mary Blanch (1955), James Phillip (1956), Catherine Ann (1958). Motherhood encompassed her entire life. She always stayed dedicated to her children. Ines had another title (Grandma) she loved dearly. All her grandchildren and great grandchildren loved their Grandma. Among the many pleasures she had in life was driving between her children and grandchildrens homes, no matter the distance. She loved her family dearly and was loved in return by all. During the early 70s Ines met Rex Brooks and a new chapter in her life began. This was an important time in her life as a person. The accidental sudden death of her oldest daughter Angeline impacted her and the family. Rex brought a new beginning to her life and they stayed together until his death 2008. Ines and Rex had an enduring spirit for people and everyday life. Their interest for enjoying and experiencing new adventures were never-ending. Ines was a very independent woman and worked hard to continually improve her knowledge and expand her interests. Becoming a U.S. Citizen was one of her accomplishments, she enjoyed voting and talking about political and social climate of the world. She was instrumental in helping her nieces journey from the Philippines for a new life in the U.S. It was over thirty plus years before Ines reconnected with her sister and brother at D.F.W. airport. Ines made only one return trip to the Philippines after forty years. Ines spent a great deal of time researching and collecting antiques. Her road trips and adventures with Rex added to the excitement of being a true collector. The antique store became a place to meet new people and enjoy old friends and display her collection. She also loved to garden and always had a large yard to plant vegetables and grow flowers. She considered this her exercise. She was an exceptional cook and everyone look forward to being there for one of her signature dishes. Ines loved animals and always had some pet around her during her life. She regarded the animals in her life as family members. Ines took pride in making lifestyle changes to combat heart and kidney disease. She was passionate about staying healthy. This gave her 86 years with her family and friends. We will all miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Angeline R. Palmer, Life Partner Rex Brooks and the Steward, Palmer, Pinat, and Torres family members. Survivors: Daughters and Son, Mary B. McNeil (Larry), Cathy A. Perry (Ron), James P. Palmer (Alma). Grandchildren: Melanie R. Palmer, Sarah P. Palmer, Julia Y. Palmer, Great Grandchildren: Christian A. Palmer, Adam J. Arista, Phillip C. Arista, Anastasia M. Arista,Sonny E. Arista, Joshua M.
