Rosa Lee Burt Peacock, age 83, of Pondville, Alabama went home to be with her Lord on 15, 2016.

The going Service for Rosa will be held at 4:00 p.m. on , 18, 2016 at Rocko in Centreville with Rev. David Grisham, Rev. James Walker, and Rev. Wesley Anderson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Flonie Mitchell Burt; brothers, J.B. Burt (Jessie) , Dewaine Burt; sisters, Avis Duncan (Wilford) , Leila Mae Burt; great-granddaughter, Mary Emma Hallman; and her husband of 28 years, William H. (Bill) Peacock.

Survivors include her children, Mike Peacock (Paula) of Tuscaloosa; Barbara Hallman (Dennis) of Pondville; grandchildren, Candice Anderson (Wesley) of Joplin, Missouri; Josh Peacock (Laura) of Houston, Texas; Clint Hallman (Melissa) of Centreville; and Justin Hallman (Jessica) of California, Kentucky; 11 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Trixie Burt of Moundville; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Rosa was born on 6, 1933 in Pondville, Alabama. She proudly graduated with the Bibb High School Class of 1952 and went on to pursue a career in nursing. She became an “army wife,” stationed with Bill in Japan following WWII. When they returned home to Pondville, Rosa continued nursing until she decided to use her skills to take care of family members who needed her gentle touch and loving care. She possessed an inner strength and a servant’s heart. Her love for family was unwavering and even in the days when memory failed, she would say, “You’ll never know how much I love you!” Today, we have the assurance that “Roro” has reunited with many who have gone before and is now singing praises to our Lord and Savior in her pure alto voice.

Pallbearers are Clint Hallman, Justin Hallman, Christian Hallman, Brady Hamm, Josh Peacock, and Wesley Anderson. Honorary Pallbearers are Cole Hallman, Southern Hospice, Dr. William Owings, B.C.H.S. Class of 1952, Sawmeal Friends, Pondville Baptist Church and Community.
