Obituary: Parker Jr., Robert Bob81 was born 21, 1929 in Sterrett, AL. He died 11, 2010 at his home in Leeds, AL, only eight months after losing his beloved wife, . Bob married the prettiest girl in Leeds, Billups on May 6, 1949. were married 60 years and 3 months. Bob worked for TCI, US Steel, The City of Leeds and owned his own business. Although he never graduated from high school, he obtained his GED and took many courses over the years to educate himself. He was past Master of the Masonic Lodge in Leeds. Bob loved baseball, golf, working crossword puzzles, reading and eating. He also loved writing and singing country western music, and playing his guitar. But, most of all, he loved his family. He was able to spend time with all of his grandchildren and loved them dearly. His death has left an empty space in all of our hearts. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, ; his youngest son, Terry; his parents, Robert W. and Hattie (Leavell) Parker; his brothers, Tom and Fuzz RV. Bob is survived by three children, Steve, Pam (Duane) and Sherry (Ron); five grandchildren, Kristie (Trent), Josh (Rachel), Scott (Stephanie), Annamarie (Jason) and Maribeth (Scott); one great granddaughter, Alexa; one soon to be great grandson; sister-in-law, Lorene Parker, numerous nieces and nephews and Whiskers III. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on , 13, 2010 at Kilgroe in Leeds. service will be held on , 14, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Kilgroe Leeds Chapel followed by a Masonic Graveside service at Bold Springs in Birmingham. Obituary: Parker, Rev. Rehnard, age, 77, of Leeds, AL passed away on 26, 2011. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Reese Jake Parker and Lula Parker, son, Phillip Dale Parker, brothers, Sidney Parker, Ray Parker, Ralph Parker, and Tolbert Parker. Obituary: PARKER, STAN Stan Parker passed away on 1, 2010 at the age of 79 the son of Lewie and Phelia Parker. He graduated from Central Park High School and the University of Alabama where he was a member of KA fraternity. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War specializing in guided missiles. Stans career started as an internal auditor for Ford Motor and regional manager for Reynolds Aluminum before returning to start his own building business and subdivision development. He was elected Builder of the Year by the Birmingham Association of Builders, Lifetime Spike for BAHB, Grand Award for Outstanding Achievement from National Association of Builders, was recognized by President Reagan as a home builder, President of the Presidents Council of the GBAHB, elected to the Greater Birmingham Housing Hall of Fame, Honor Rancher as a long time supporter of the Alabama Sheriffs Boys and Girls Club. He loved gardening and was a master gardener. He joined JRH Real Estate in 1981, managed the Crestline Office, Bessemer Office and Bessemer/ Hueytown office. As he had been a developer, builder, selling agent and broker, he understood all aspects of the business and he emphasized continuing education. He retired as manager in 2000, but remained an agent until 2005 and remained active in land development. He was an active member of Lakeside Baptist Church and loved so many of his Christian brothers and sisters there. His school class and cancer support group were dear to his heart. He is survived by his beloved wife, Betty; sons, Matt (Lucy) and Drew (Staci) of Birmingham; daughter, Melissa Kantrow (Charlie) of New Orleans; sister, Judith of Birmingham and grandchildren, Sarah, Sims, Matthew, Owen, Christian, Maye Morgan, Andrew, Vivian, Caroline, Amelia and Eleanor. Pallbearers are Charlie Kantrow, Bobby Jones, Jerome Billings, Walter Mayer, James Mayer and Jack Hethcox. Honorary pallbearers are Gus Edgil, Skeet Inman, Harold Lochart, Jim Davis, Britt Winiford and K.O. Hand. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on 4th with services at 11:00 a.m. at Ridouts Valley Chapel, wood. |
