Obituary: Wanda Faye Purkey, age 73, of Morristown, passed away on , 30, 2014. She was a member of Saving Grace Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her son, Roy Lynn Buckner; father, Sam Purkey; mother, Mary Everheart Purkey; sister, Shirley Ward; and brothers, Dewey Purkey and Kenneth Purkey. Survivors include her grandson, Kenneth Shaun Buckner of the home; sisters, Ann Purkey of Bulls Gap, Gerldine Purkey of Greeneville, Linda Sue Bryan, and Dororthy Holt of Morristown; Gail Collins of Rutledge. brothers, Hugh Purkey and Dale Purkey of Bean Station; aunt, Minnie Russell of Morristown; daughter-in-law, Tina Griffore; grandchildren, Ashley Barton of White Pine and Dusty Way of Kingsport; great-grandson, Dakota Loose; and several nieces, nephews and close friends. services will be held in the chapel of Stubblefield on , 2, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. with Rev Derek Dunsmore officiating. Family and friends will meet in Jarnigan on morning at 9:45 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. graveside service. Obituary: Jane Balch Purkey, 84, passed from this life on 17, 2014, at Asbury Place Assisted Living Facility with loving family by her side. Born on 6, 1930, in Laughman, FL. Jane lived most of her life in Morristown, TN, and the last 15 years in Maryville. Her purpose in life was to love and care for others, a goal achieved through her devotion to family and friends and through her work as an LPN. She was a good listener who knew how to evoke laughter in herself and others, an avid collector of angels, and a joyful seeker of new friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Charles Hubert Balch and Lorena Harrill Balch, and her husband, Ernest Clifton Purkey. Jane is survived by her sister, Patricia Balch Harville; children, Bobbie Vance Briggs (Ron), David Vance (Vicki), Judy Purkey Pegram (Joe Magdic), and Patricia Lynn Purkey; grandchildren, Sarah Briggs, Ronald Briggs (Elizabeth), William Vance (Danielle), Faith Vance, Jason Tickel (Tara), Arlon Pearson, Alex Pearson, Cliff Purkey (Grace), and Rose Purkey; and 15 great grandchildren. Janes family sends gratitude and love to Amy White, a special friend and neighbor and to the entire staff of Asbury Place Assisted Living for caring for her as if she were family. services will be at 2:30 p.m. in McCammon-Ammons-Click Chapel with The Rev. Dr. Stan Rushing officiating. Family and friends will re-assemble immediately following the service at Grandview for the interment service.
