Obituary: Donna McHenry Poag, age 83 passed away , Nov. 14, 2013. Preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Jess H. Poag, Jr.; parents, John and Martha McHenry; step-mother, Tobbie McHenry; brother, Lloyd McHenry. Survived by her children, John (Tina) Poag, Philip (Rebecca) Poag and Paula Poag; grandchildren, Karyn (Eric) Roed, Philip (Jami) Poag, Jr. and Emily (Dan Amabile) Poag; great grandchildren, Ellie and Griffin Roed, Ryan Poag and Molly Amabile; sister, Gladys (Jim) Parrish. Mrs. Poag grew up and graduated from Hay Long High School in Mt. Pleasant, TN. She worked for over 40 years in early childhood education at Andrew Price United Methodist Church, where she was a member for over 50 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted 10 a.m. , Nov. 18, 2013 in Hibbett & Hailey s Chapel with Rev. Melisa J. Derseweh officiating. A committal service will follow in Mount Olivet . Obituary: Ruth Davis Plyman, age 107, of Clinton, went to see her Savior and join her family that preceded her on 30, 2016. She was born 15, 1908 in Ashford, NC to the late Melvin and Maggie McCall. She graduated from Wheat High School in 1928 and worked for Magnet Mills for 20 years until it closed in 1963 as a finishing instructor. Ruth was a very active lady, driving until she was a 101 and mowed her yard until she was 102. She always enjoyed working in her yard and was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves. Her motto was Trust in the Lord and stay busy and she would always reply Im okay, don worry about me. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Frank Plyman; sons, C.L. Davis and Frank Davis. Survivors include: Daughter: Peggy Lou Trumble and husband George Son: Allen M. Davis and wife Shirley Grandchildren: Linda Davis Duke and husband James, Will Davis, David Davis, Michelle Davis, Patty Hoffman and husband Dan, Terri Cook, Cheryl OReilly and husband Bob, Jerry Webb and wife Andrea. Great grandchildren: Holly Marie Capps, Nick Hoffman, Jamie Hoffman, Bryan Young and wife Rachel, Erin Cook, and Tracey Cook.
