Obituary: Betty was born on 28, 1929 in Stratford, OK, to Noel and Bonnie (Collins) Watson, and passed away on 12, 2014. Betty was a civilian worker at Tinker Air Force Base for 28 years, and attended Sunnylane United Methodist Church. She enjoyed flower gardening, traveling, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren. Her greatest achievements were being a loving mother, devoted wife, and her close relationship with God. Bettys proudest moments were becoming a mother and marrying her loving husband, Freeman in 1982. Betty is preceded in death by her parents; husband William Freeman Poplin; daughter Pat Townsend; brother Don Watson; and sister Glynda Clements. Betty is survived by son Kevin Kniffin and wife Trina of Del City; daughter Sherri Poplin-Shipman and husband Ronnie of Marlow; son Jimmy Poplin and wife Shelly of Moore; along with six grandchildren; two nieces, two nephews, other family members and a host of friends. Betty Jo will be loved and missed by all. |

Obituary: Mary Ruth Pope was born 2, 1932 in Gorman, TX the daughter of Yancie Newt Campbell and Ruffie Mae (McGaha) Campbell, and she had resided in Boswell since 1966. She married Stanley Pope on 11, 1953 in Lovington, NM. She went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on 24, 2015 at her home in Boswell, OK at the age of 82. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her occupations included working as a secretary at the Choctaw Courthouse followed by serving as receptionist at Miller & Miller in Boswell. She was a faithful member of Victory Baptist Church of Hugo serving as long as she was able. Ruth was a wonderful School teacher, Vacation Bible School leader, and she fulfilled needed roles at Victory Baptist Church alongside her husband, the pastor for over 30 years, Bro. Stanley Pope. Her hobbies included painting, crocheting, and writing poetry. She also loved cooking and gardening. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Deene Campbell. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Bro. Stanley Pope; three sons: Dr. Stanley Pope, Jr. and wife, Donna Ann of Boswell; Timmy Pope and wife, Donna Jean of Philadelphia, MS; and Ronnie Pope and wife, Donna Lynn of Boswell; seven grandchildren: Dr. Corey Pope and wife, Dr. Megan M. Pope of Boswell; Dr. Stanna Pope of Boswell; Benstan Pope and wife, Jamie of Carthage, MS; Bryant Pope and wife Megan of Union, MS; Jarrod Johnson of Azle, TX; Marty Pope and wife, Stacy of Bokchito, OK; and Leandra Jestis and husband, Landon of Bokchito, OK; 11 great grandchildren; one brother: Marvin Campbell of Lovington, NM; one sister: Geneva Gable of Artesia, NM; and numerous other relatives and friends.
