Obituary: Glen Penquite SR, Lifelong resident of Dayton, OH passed away on , 6 2015 at the age of 80 yrs. old, surrounded by his loving family at Miami Valley Hospital. In addition to his parents, Glen SR is proceeded in death by his son, Tim Penquite. Glen was married to his childhood sweetheart Florence (Flo), and together had a family of five boys; Glen JR (Colleen), Stanley David (Amy), Tim (Carol), Doug (Jeni), and Tommy. He was also a Grandpa to 11 Grandchild and 13 Great Grandchildren. Glens greatest joy was time spent with his family and friends at his cabin in Blue Jay on Lake Cumberland in Kentucky.He was an active member of the Dayton Jaycees and spent time as the President of the Ohio Junior Miss Pageant. Boy Scouts of America was a passion of Glens. A member of the Order of the Arrow, and a Troop leader with Troop 236 and Troop 193, Mr. Penquite spent most of his time giving back to young people.
Celebration of his life will be held at Tobias -Far Hills Chapel 5471 Far Hills Ave at Rahn Rd. at 2pm 11th ,2015. Interment will be at a later date in Davids . The family will receive friends from 1 pm until service time at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers: Donations to Cox Arboretium and Boy Scouts of Miami Valley Council. Obituary: Zora Dawn Zegarac Penovich passed away on 26, 2014 in Medina, Ohio of natural causes.

For the past 7 years, Zora has been living with her husband of nearly 69 years, Robert Penovich, at the Western Reserve Masonic Community in Medina. Prior to that they lived in Brecksville, Massillon, and Canton, Ohio, Beaver, Pa., and South Windsor, CT.

Zora was daughter, wife, sister, mother, friend and beautiful Soul. Zora was born on 10, 1924 in Cleveland to parents Smilija Alexsic Zegarac and Dane Zegarac, who immigrated from Serbia to America in the early 1900s. Zora was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Helen Zegarac Feiten; her brother, George Zegarac; and infant daughter, Donna.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; daughters, Patricia Penovich-Moriarty of St. Paul, MN, Kathy Kirk of San Diego and Medina, and Nancy Buxser of Indianapolis, IN; 6 grandchildren: Brendan Moriarty, Meaghan Moriarty, Juddson Kirk, Jarrod Kirk, Nathan Buxser and Aaron Buxser; and one great-grandson, Brody Kirk.

Zora was a 1942 graduate of Collinwood High School in Cleveland and growing up a member of St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in Cleveland; later she was a member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Canton for over 50 years. She was an honorary volunteer at the Massillon Community Hospital. During the war, she actively supported several soldiers serving overseas by writing letters, but most significant was her support of Bob, a B-17 pilot, as the emotional and spiritual Wind Beneath His Wings.

A stay-at-home mother, Zora devoted herself first and foremost to her family. For this and for her unconditional love and service, she is so honored and cherished.

Throughout the years she was cookie chairman for the Girl Scouts; a member of The Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #537 in Brecksville; she supported her girls in Rainbow. She followed her husband in several transfers as his work required, each time re-creating a new home of beauty, serenity and love. Zora dabbled at golf, was an excellent seamstress, and a creative cook. She loved opera and dancing. Zora infused everything she did with her loving heart, creating a foundation of love and acceptance from which her family could and did thrive and flourish.

On 1, visiting hours will be at Karlo-Libby , 5000 Everhard Rd. Canton between 4:00 and 6:30 PM. Pomen at 6:30 PM.

On 2 at St George Serbian Orthodox Church, 1 hour viewing at 10:00 AM, services at 11:00 AM, 4667 Applegrove St NW, North Canton, Ohio 44720 with Father Aleksa Pavichevich.

A memory luncheon will be held in the Church Hall immediately following the service. Burial will follow at St. Theodosius Orthodox , 8200 Biddulph Rd, Cleveland, OH 44144.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Zoras name to St. George Serbian Orthodox Church are appreciated.

Obituary: In Memory of Robert Penovich - 05, 1923. - 8, 2016 Robert Penovich passed away on 8, 2016 in Medina, Ohio unexpectedly of natural causes. For the past 9 years, Bob has been living at the Western Reserve Masonic Community in Medina, 7 of those with his bride of nearly 69 years, Zora. Prior to that they lived in Brecksville, Massillon, and Canton, Ohio, Beaver, Pa., and South Windsor, CT. Robert, who was always called Bob, was a warm and wonderful soul who valued his family and friends and his country. Bob was born on 5, 1923 in Cleveland to parents Lazlo and Milka Penovich who immigrated from Serbia to America prior to 1900.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife Zora and infant daughter Donna: parents; his sisters Julia Lonchar and Caroline Mandich and his brother Steve Penovich. He is survived by daughters, Patricia Penovich-Moriarty of St. Paul, MN, Kathy Kirk of Medina, and Nancy Buxser of Indianapolis, IN; 6 grandchildren: Brendan Moriarty, Meaghan Moriarty, Juddson Kirk, Jarrod Kirk, Nathan Buxser and Aaron Buxser; and two great-grandsons, Brody Kirk and Avery Moriarty.

Bob was a 1941 graduate of Collinwood High School in Cleveland and grew up as a member of St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in Cleveland; later he was a member over 50 years of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Canton and served on its board. Bob served as a B-17 pilot and was stationed in Framingham, England. And subsequently has been an avid supporter of the 390th Bomb Group. He received his Bachelor of Science and Masters Degrees from Case University. He worked at Cleveland Chain and then joined Republic Steel eventually becoming Division Manager for Union Drawn. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Brecksville. When not working, Bob loved to play golf and later became a master woodworker. He championed his daughters activities and education. His attention to detail could be seen in his landscaping skills. Bob had a loving heart and high standards. He loved to teach and to share the history of WWII with the younger generations. He and Zora provided a foundation of love, honesty and acceptance from which their family could and did thrive and flourish.
