Obituary: Ralph Lee Privette, 92, of Gastonia, passed away on , Sept. 5, 2014, at Gastonia and Rehabilitation with his loving family by his side. He was born in Dunn, N.C., and was the son of the late Albert Lee and Siddie Privette. Mr. Privette attended the Salvation Army in Atlanta and was an Officer in the Salvation Army. attending college, he returned to Gastonia and began work as a linotype operator with Wallace Business Forms and did accounting as a second job. retiring from Wallace Business Forms, he devoted his full time as an Accountant. Mr. Privette was a member of the Salvation Army Worship , Gastonia. Mr. Privette is survived by his daughter, Jo Beth McGinnis and husband Kim of Charlotte; two grandchildren, Wade McGinnis of Winston-Salem, Lee McGinnis of Charlotte. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. , Sept. 8, 2014 at Carothers , Gastonia, with a graveside service to follow at Gaston Memorial Park, with the Rev. Keith Grindle officiating. Mr. Privette was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 52 years, Clara Smith Privette; daughter, Sandra Privette Leggett; brother, Carl Privette; three sisters, Estelle Strickland, Burma Kennedy, Rochelle Watson. Memorials may be made to Salvation Army, P. O. Box 1094, Gastonia, NC 28053. Online condolences may be made at www.carothersfuneralhomegastonia.com. Obituary: Peggy Lou Gargis Privette, 87, passed away peacefully on , 8, 2015. She was born in Wake on 22, 1928 to the late Lee Edward Gargis and Ola Belle Pruitt Gargis. She married the love of her life, the late Edsel Howard Privette on 19, 1959 who preceded her in death on 16, 2012. She retired with 39 years of service from Equitable Life Assurance . Peggy was a lifelong member of St. Timothys Episcopal Church in Raleigh. A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 pm, , 12, 2015 at Montlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, 27603 with The Rev. Jay C. James officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends immediately following the service in the Mausoleum Chapel. Entombment will take place following the services. Surviving: sister, Barbara G. Woodlief of Raleigh; a host of special nieces, nephews and godchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers; Lee E. Gargis, Jr. and Donald G. Gargis. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Timothys Episcopal Church, 4423 Six Forks Rd., Raleigh, NC 27609 or to your local cancer research charity. |
