Obituary: Freida Juanita Piercy, age 80 of Conover, passed away on , May 27, 2016 at Trinity Village in Hickory. She was the daughter of the late Avery Crawford Winkler and Rosie Mae Wilcox Winkler. Freida was a member of Tri-City Baptist Church in Conover and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be missed by all. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of nine years, Ivan T. Piercy; son: Jeff Piercy; and grandson: Dakota Piercy. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Deborah P. Waldon and husband, Craig, Kimberly P. OHalloran; son: Kevin A. Piercy and wife, Leshea; brothers: Bynum Winkler, Dee Winkler, and Jack Winkler; sister: Jean Correll; grandchildren: Heather Piercy, Jenna Walsh, Jeff and Jordon Piercy, Daryn, Victoria, Tara, and Olivia OHalloran, Matthew and Kristen Piercy; great-grandchildren: Sydney Greene, Leah and Caleb Piercy, Campbell Tufts, and Aubree Marie. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at Tri-City Baptist Church in Conover. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 12:00 p.m. on , May 30, 2016 at Tri-City Baptist Church in Conover with Pastor Byron Repass officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Piercy, Matt Piercy, Eric Kanipe, Kevin Piercy, Craig Waldon, and Phil Cloer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tri-City Baptist Church Senior Adult Ministry, 1409 N. NC 16 Hwy, Conover, NC 28613. Contributions will be much appreciated. |

Obituary: Alfred Bud Piercy, 90, of Mint Hill, passed away , 4, 2017. Bud is preceded in death by his wife Sadie Piercy (Granny). He was a proud Army veteran, and a retiree from Bowman Trucking . He grew up in a large family of nine children. Bud is survived by his brother, Guy Piercy; daughters, Frances Wilson (Hunter) of Mint Hill and Johnny Morris of Charlotte; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Bud loved gardening and was known to have had a green thumb specializing in tomatoes. The family will receive friends , 7, 2017 from 12:00pm-1:30pm at McEwen -Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews Mint -Hill Rd, Mint Hill. A funeral service will be held at 1:30pm in the funeral home chapel.
