Obituary: Robert Lee "Bob" Phillips, Jr., of Mint Hill, NC, passed away morning, 28, 2015, at Novant Matthews Medical . He was 80 years old. Born 25, 1935 in Mint Hill, Bob was the son of the late Robert Lee Phillips and Gladys Williams Phillips. He was a 1953 graduate of East Mecklenburg High School. Bob retired as owner and operator of Quality Equipment & Supply after many years in the truck equipment industry. He was a former member of the Queen City Model A Club. He was a former member and Past Master of Matthews Masonic Lodge #461 and a charter member and Past Master of Mint Hill Masonic Lodge #742. He was also a charter member of NC Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #353. Bob was a longtime member of Wilson Grove Baptist Church, where he served for a number of years as a deacon. He enjoyed deep sea fishing, family camping and was an avid NASCAR racing fan. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a son, Russell Lee Phillips. He is survived by his loving and supportive wife of 59 years, Sadie C. Phillips; their children, Sandra P. Murphy and husband, Brad, John R. Phillips and wife, Kathy, and David L. Phillips, all of Mint Hill; his sister, Sue P. Rogers and husband, Earl, of Calabash; grandchildren, Sarah (Josh) Blue, Katie Phillips, Justin (Debbie) Phillips, Allison (Justin) Mode, Laura (Ryan) Buchanan and Travis (Heather) Phillips; and great-grandchildren, Bryce Phillips, Lauryn Blue, Emerson Mode, Wyatt Buchanan and Skylar Phillips. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. , 1, at Wilson Grove Baptist Church, 6624 Wilgrove-Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary, with the Rev. Rob Mariucci and the Rev. Albert Leath officiating. Obituary: Mr. Robert Bobby M. Phillips, 76, of Pleasant Garden, passed away peacefully , 2, 2010 at Wake Forest University Medical after a 22 year long illness. services will be held at 2:00 p.m. , 5 at Peace United Church of Christ with The Reverend John Dieterly officiating. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. Mr. Phillips was born 19, 1933 to Archie Franklin Phillips and Helen Stanley Phillips Orrell. He was employed by Stameys Barbecue for 34 years. He was a member of Peace United Church of Christ where he served on several committees. He was a member of the N.C. Cattlemans Association. He was a volunteer for the Pleasant Garden Fire Department for five years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather (Papaw), brother and uncle. He was a dear friend to many and loved by all. He was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Robert A. Thompson. Mr. Phillips leaves behind his devoted and loving wife of 56 years, Elizabeth Libby Harvey Phillips, daughter, Pamela Phillips Thompson, son, Robert Kent Phillips and wife, Tonya, sisters, Phyllis Durham (Kenneth), Mary Causey, grandchildren, Justin Houglan (Holly), Haley Roberts (Jimmy), Abby Thompson, Benjamin Phillips, Jacob Phillips, MaKayla Phillips, great-grandchildren, Taylor Houglan, Mari Ferree and the family dog, Buddy. He also leaves behind scores of loving family, neighbors and friends. Obituary: Richard A. Phillips, 55 years old of Statesville passed away at his home on 25, 2016. Born in Stafford Springs, CT, Richard has been a resident of Iredell for 42 years. Richard was a partner with the law firm of Benbow & Phillips Attorneys in Statesville. He was a 1978 graduate of North Iredell High School. He graduated in 1982 from the University of North Carolina with a double major in political science and economics. While at Carolina, he was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honorary society. Richard graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 1985. He served as an assistant district attorney for the 22nd Judical District and practiced law in Statesville for the past 30 + years. He was a member of Statesville Masonic Lodge 27. Richard was predeceased by his parents, Rudolph and Mary Phillips; his father-in-law, Charles Ray Best, Sr. and his brother-in-law, Hector Hamel. Richard is survived by his wife of 14 years ,whom he loved dearly, Doris Marie (Best) Phillips; his mother-in-law, Doris P. Best of Statesville; his brother, Rudolph Phillips, Jr. and his wife Pauline of Stafford Springs, CT; his sisters, Sandra Lloyd and her husband Elmer of Tolland, CT, Pat Phillips of Statesville and Jan Hamel of Statesville; his brothers-in-law, Charles Ray Best Jr. of Statesville, James Michael Best and his wife Cindy of Statesville and Timothy Best and his wife Angela of Statesville; his sisters-in-law, Brenda Kay Best of Statesville, Nancy B. Murdock and her husband Dennis of Troutman and Beverly B. Boger and her husband Robert of Troutman and his 21 nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on 28, 2016 from 2-6pm. A funeral service will be held on 11am in the Westmoreland Chapel at the funeral home with the burial to follow in Oakwood , Statesville. Obituary: Carthage, NC Richard “Ricky” Phillips, age 70 of Carthage died , 8, 2015 at First Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. services will be 3:00 PM at Flint Hill Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. William Hancock. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall. A native of Guilford he was a son of the late Vernon and Ella Mae Jordan Phillips. Ricky was baptized and grew up in Glendon Independent Christian Church, and attended Flint Hill Baptist Church for the last several years. He worked many years at Carthage Fabrics retiring as a supervisor. He was an avid bird hunter and skeet shooter. He was an outstanding baseball pitcher while in school and always enjoyed sports. He played on the Moore Senior Softball League, where the team won a state championship.
