Obituary: John K. Packhem, 90, of Bedford, NH died 27, 2013 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack. He was born in Portland, ME on 12, 1922, the son of Nelson J. and Julia (Kennard) Packhem. He grew up in South Portland, ME and was a 1940 graduate of South Portland High School. Following high school, John worked at the South Portland Shipyard and the New England Telephone until he enlisted in the US Navy in 1942. John trained as a Navy pilot and served in the US Navy for four years. While stationed in Jacksonville, Florida John met Gloria L. Crabtree and they were married in 1945. John and Gloria returned to Maine in 1946 where John resumed his career with the New England Telephone . Johns career with the New England Telephone spanned 43 years and he worked in Portland and Presque Isle, Maine, Manchester, NH, Boston, and Framingham, MA. John moved to Bedford, NH in 1987. He retired in 1989 as the Assistant General Manager of Engineering for Northern States and Rhode Island. John lived life to the fullest. John navigated life with energy, a positive attitude and a wonderful sense of humor. He was an avid sports fan and played golf and swam into his 90th year. He was predeceased by his wife Gloria L. Packhem and his brother David N. Packhem. John was a beloved and devoted family member. He is survived by his daughter Tina E. Packhem of Bedford, NH, his daughter Janice M. Saunders and her husband Charles Saunders of Suwanee, Georgia; his sister Eleanor M. Pierce of Contoocook, NH; two grandsons; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A private family burial will be held later in the spring. Obituary: Charles C. Pace Jr., 89, of Manchester passed away on 9, 2012 at Mt. Carmel . He was born in Brooklyn, NY on 9, 1921 to Charles and Lillian (Christy) Pace. He graduated from Brooklyn Tech and attended Princeton and Cornell universities. During World War II he served in the US Army as a PFC in the Army Signal Corps and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Pace was chief appraiser for the Federal Housing Administration in New York, NY. He moved to Manchester in 1970 and was director of housing for Housing and Urban Development in NH, VT and Maine. He retired in 1974. He enjoyed golf and was a Paul Harris Fellow in Rotary International. He also was a member of the Granite Statesmen where he served as its president and was awarded Barbershopper of the Year in 1975. He was a member of the First Congregational Church and was active in the Mens Union. He was a 3rd degree Mason and a member of the Shriners International. He was a snowbird until 1999 when his wife of 50 years, Jacqueline (Morris) Pace passed away. The family includes two daughters, Dee Moore of Manchester and Claudie Kiley of Bedford; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Brent and Bryan Kiley, Boomer Moore and CTR 1st. class (SW) Amanda Dersham USN; and two great grandchildren. Born 3, 1929, in Berlin, NH, she was the daughter of Thomas and Adelaide (Frechette) McGinnis. She entered the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in 1945, made her first Profession in 1948, and her final Profession in 1953. She received a Bachelor of Education Degree from Catholic Teachers , Providence, RI and did post-graduate studies at Notre Dame in Manchester. She taught in elementary grades in West Warwick, Albion, Woonsocket, and Marievelle, RI, for 12 years, and in Berlin and Manchester, NH for 7 years. She then became a Nurses Aide for 4 years at St. Joseph Residence in Manchester. For 51 years, she was in charge of either Parish or Community sacristies and chapels in Rhode Island and New Hampshire, 14 of those years at St. Marie Residence, Manchester and 17 years at Rivier , Nashua. Family members include two sisters, Mrs. Irene Picard of West Warwick, RI and Mrs. Juliette Tilton of Berlin, NH; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, and dear friends. A mass of Christian burial was celebrated in Resurrection Chapel, St. Marie Residence, on Se[tember 18, 2004. Burial was in Presentation of Mary , Hudson, NH. Lambert & Crematory, Manchester, NH handled the arrangements. |

Obituary: Sister Aliette Angers P.M., 89, (Sr. Rose du Bon Pasteur) of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, 495 Mammoth Rd., Manchester, died at the St. Joseph Residence after a period of declining health. Born in Manchester, 18, 1918, she was the daughter of Alfred and Lumina (Gelinas) Angers. She entered the Congregation in Canada in 1937, made her First Profession in 1940 and her Final Profession in 1945. She received her Bachelors degree in Science from Rivier in Nashua and her Masters degree in Biology at Catholic University in Washington D.C. She taught in parochial elementary schools in Manchester at St. Marie, Sacred Heart and at West Side Catholic. She also taught science at Notre Dame Academy in Berlin, NH, and at Presentation of Mary Academy in Hudson, NH. She served as principal at the Academy and at St. Joseph in Woonsocket, R.I. She joined the Rivier staff in 1961 as an aide in the Biology Department. Sister Aliette was Director of Studies for the Sisters in the Diocese of Manchester. She also served as Local Superior and Provincial Councilor. She retired at the Marie Rivier Community in Hudson and was transferred to the St. Joseph Residence in 2002. Family members include several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated 23, 2008 in the Resurrection Chapel. Burial was in Presentation of Mary , Hudson, NH. Lambert & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., was in charge of arrangements. |

She was born in Gardner, MA 2, 1926 to Theodore and Philomene Cormier. She entered the Order of the Presentation of Mary in Hudson, NH in 1941, made her First Profession in 1944 and her Final Profession in 1949. She was assigned to community dining services from 1944 until 1990 at Presentation of Mary Academy in Hudson, Rivier in Nashua and St. Marie Residence in Manchester. She also served in Rhode Island. In 1990 she was assigned as local superior at St. Joseph Residence in Manchester and in 1994 at St. Vincent de Paul in Coventry, R.I. She also served at the House of Prayer in New Ipswich, NH. She was an excellent cook and participated in many of the culinary workshops at Holy Cross in Worcester, MA Family members include two sisters, Corinne Cormier and Gerenne Jalbert, both of Gardner, MA; nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated , 9, 2010 in the Resurrection Chapel.
