Obituary: Dale Ponder, age 79, of Mena passed away , 20, 2015 in Mena. He was born 19, 1936 in Norman, Arkansas to the late Alvin Ponder and the late Etta Jane Driggers Ponder. He married Janet (Jett) Petty in 1956. their three children were born, Dale and Janet moved to Washington State where they resided for the next forty years, with the exception of a short stint back in Arkansas. While in Washington, Dale worked hard and eventually had his own underground cable construction company. His wife Janet passed away in 2001. much consideration Dale dissolved the business and decided to move back to Arkansas. He later met and married Opal Zedlitz from Mena, Arkansas. were able to travel to Washington State every summer until Dales health began to deteriorate finally disabling him completely. Dale loved life and had a great sense of adventure. His family meant the world to him. He loved people and if you weren smiling after an encounter with Dale, well, you just weren listening. Dale is survived by: Wife: Opal Ponder of the home Son: Dennis Ponder and wife Rosetta of Longview, Washington Daughters: Tammy Epperson and husband Alan of Longview, Washington Terri Magazine and husband Rick of Paradise, California Step-sons: Scott Zedlitz and Ricky Zedlitz of Tyler Texas Grandchildren: Kevin, Kristen, Bryan, Derrick, Jason, Justin, and Rachel Step- Grandchild: Logan Zedlitz Several great-grandchildren Brother: Jimmy Ponder and wife Iva of Norman, Arkansas Sister: Lucille Varnell of Norman, Arkansas Sister-in-law: Louise Ponder of Norman, Arkansas Numerous nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ray Ponder, sisters, Billie Jo Scott and Nelex SisPonder. Obituary: Russell Lee Pomtree 79, of a, died , 5, 2016 in Little Rock. He was born 4, 1936 in Howell, Arkansas, a son of the late Alva Lee and Kathyrn (Reneau) Pomtree. He was a retired supervisor at the Sloan Valve Corporation in a where he had been employed for 37 years. Mr. Pomtree was a member of the a First Baptist Church where he served as teacher of the Fishers of Men School Class. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge. Russell was a teaser and a prankster and got much enjoyment from his victims reactions. Mr. Russell as he was known on the Cache River loved to duck hunt and fish. He will surely be missed by his hunting buddies stretching from across the south. He was a fixture on the Cache River. Dining daily from Bald Knob to Little Rock was a favorite pass time. He also enjoyed his early morning chats with his coffee buddies at the local coffee shop. But the love of his life was his family especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ernestine Kissinger Pomtree; children, Nealon Pomtree (Suzi) of Little Rock and Sonya Pomtree of Tuckerman; grandchildren, Chase and Grace Pomtree; sister Marie Pomtree of Little Rock; brothers, Bobby Pomtree (Marcia) of Little Rock and Hershal Pomtree (Rita) of Memphis; special friend, Dwayne Reed of Pocahontas.
