Obituary: Bobby Polk, 49, of Mulberry, AR , died 11, 2011 at a local hospital. He was born 24, 1961 in Clinton, OK. He was the owner and operator of Mulberry Roofing Co. and he loved fishing. He is survived by his wife Tonya, of the home; two sons, Danny Polk of Mulberry, AR and Mark Polk of Alma, AR; his mother, Mary Polk of Mulberry, AR; a sister, Cathy Jones of Hope, AR; three brothers, Allen Polk of Mulberry , AR, Joe Polk of Mulberry, AR and Tom Polk of Mulberry, AR and four grandchildren. Graveside service will be 10:00 A.M. , 15, 2011 at Pope in Graphic, AR under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma of Van Buren, AR. |

Obituary: Alice M. “Grandma” Polk, 79, of Alexander passed away , 29. Born in Springfield, MO to Thomas R. & Dorothy Foster Burt, Alice lived in Alexander for most of her life. She was of the Baptist faith and attended the Church at Rock Creek. Alice was employed by Little Rock Furniture Co., Falcon Jet and Central Flying Service. Known by her co-workers as “Grandma”, Alice was widely known as a skilled seamstress and was always in great demand. She was preceded in death by her parents, sons James Burks and Charles Burks and by her husband, Dwaine Polk. Alice is survived by her children: Dorothy Burks, Alice (Farris) Holliman, Terri (David) Stephens and Sarah (Bear) Nichol, 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren Alice was a terrific wife and mother who loved her family more than anything else in the world. She was well loved by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, , 2nd at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills , 10200 Hwy. 5 North in Alexander. Service will be at 2:00 PM , 3rd in the Forest Hills Chapel with interment to follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. |
