Obituary: Mattie Lee Peevy passed away in Richardson, Texas on 5, 2014. She was born Mattie Lee Anthony on 5, 1925. She was married to William Hanna and had two sons. Widowed early, she then married Jared Roscoe Peevy and had a daughter. resided in Fort Smith, Arkansas for most of their lives. Jared was a Fort Smith fireman and Mattie worked for Two States Petroleum . She was known for having a flair for fashion and decorating. Her taste was eclectic often mixing African and Asian prints. Her favorite piece of advice was to dress to walk the runway each and every day of your life. She is preceded in death by husband, William Hanna, son William A. Hanna who was killed in Vietnam and husband Jared Roscoe Peevy. She is survived by son, Richard Hanna and his wife Margaret who live in Springfield, Missouri and daughter, Jaclyn Peevy Johnston and her husband Eliot who resides in Richardson, Texas. There are also three grandchildren, Monte Hanna from Springfield, Stephen Johnston from Manhattan, New York and Jenifer Johnston from Dallas, Texas. The family will greet friends from 10:30am to 12:00pm , 27, 2015 at Edwards , with a memorial graveside following at 2:00pm at U.S. National in Fort Smith. Local services are under the direction of Edwards . |

Obituary: Kenneth Harlin Peerson II, known as Kenny, Passed away at his home on 22, 2015. Kenny was a long-time Fort Smith resident, and graduated from Southside High School in 1976. He graduated from the ROTC program at Arkansas Tech University in 1981 and served as a Military Intelligence officer in the Army for 12 years. retiring from the Army, Kenny moved his family back to Fort Smith and became a beloved biology teacher at Northside High school, where he taught for 13 years until his retirement. Kenny is survived by his wife Linda; his sister Kenda Coleman; his brother Melvin Lee Peerson; his son Josh Peerson and daughter Sarah Preston, as well as his two beautiful grandchildren, and his beloved dog Mongo. Kennys memorial service will be held at 1 oclock on , 28th at Edwards home on N 12th street in Fort Smith. Services are under the direction of Edwards . In Lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation in Kennys memory to the Disabled American Veterans charity at www.DAV.org/Donate. |
