Obituary: Edith G. Parr of North Little Rock, passed away 19, 2015, and is now with her Lord and Savior. She was 87 and lived a full and blessed life. She was the daughter of Hillman and Martha Gibson and was born in Ramer,Tennessee. She was married for 58 years to David L. Parr, who preceded her in death in 2009. She is survived, son Travis L. Parr (Peggy) New Orleans, grandsons Nathaniel Parr (Joy), New Orleans and Grant Parr (Jackie), Fort Worth, TX) and son Stephen L. Parr (Sue) Memphis, TN, grand-daughters Natalie Browne (Stephen), Oklahoma City OK, great-grandsons Hillman & Crawford Browne; Dr. Valerie Parr, Huntsville, AL and grandson Stephen D. Parr, Chicago, IL. Mrs. Parr is also survived by sister, Mrs. Helen Caruso of Fyfe, AL and brother Dr. William Coleman Gibson of Fort Payne, AL. Mrs. Parr was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church for 25 years and loved her school class, church and her bible studies. She was a proud member, sponsor and volunteer for the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Foundation. She was very active in volunteer community work in many organizations over the years and served on several non-profit boards, including serving as the President for the Arkansas Mental Association, the North Little Rock Women’s Club, the Arts and Laman Library. Visitation will be , 5, at 1:00 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock. Obituary: Hector Parodi, 84, of Little Rock, passed away Feb. 24, 2017. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina to Ismael and Elsa Parodi, he was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Alberto Pane. Hector was a veteran of the Argentine Navy. He moved his young family to Oakland, California, in 1960, in search of the American dream. His successful career included accounting for Jacuzzi, manager of Western Sizzlin and Casa Bonita, and most recently, owner of Leo's Greek Castle, which he sold in 2013. Hector was fondly referred to as Abo and Mr. Leo. Above all, he loved his family and this country. Always the life of the party; singing, dancing and hamming it up. He had a generous heart, receiving awards from the American Red Cross for his numerous blood donations and from the Humane Society. Hector is survived by his wife of 59 years, Alicia Parodi; daughters, Gracie Harrell (Gary), Melissa Hawkins (Adam); and five grandchildren; Jeremy (Lindsay), Megan, Alicia, Casey and Kirsten. The family sincerely thanks Pleasant Valley and Hector’s hospice nurse, Vicky, for their exceptional care and love. A celebration of his life Mass of Christian Burial will be held on , 2 at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church.
