Obituary: Peggy Joan Parks, 82, of Van Buren, passed away , 14, 2017 at her home. She was born 30, 1934 in Van Buren to the late Floyd and Virginia Smith. She was a Loan Officer and Branch Manager for First Federal Bank, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Van Buren. She loved to travel with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Parks. She is survived by a daughter, Debbie Garner and husband DeWayne of Van Buren; two sons, James Parks and wife Rita of Hackett, and Mike Parks and wife Judy of Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren, Leslie Morlen, Ashley Parks, Jesse Macy, and Kris Parks, and four great-grandchildren. service will be 2:00 p.m. , 17, 2017 at Edwards Van-Alma Chapel officiated by Reverend Bobby Parks. Obituary: Myrtle M. Parks, 93, of Russellville, passed away on , 8, 2015, at Legacy Heights and Rehabilitation . She was born Myrtle Marie Ruby on 5, 1921, in Point Pleasant, Missouri, to Perry Joshua and Nancy Christine Eads Ruby. She was a homemaker and former practical nurse. She taught the young adult class and was the secretary/treasurer of her church mission fund. She was quoted as saying, We fell in love with the people of Russellville and we decided to stay. Our experience has been wonderful here. She was a long time member of the Grace Chapel Trinity Pentecostal Church in Russellville, and was, with her late husband, the Rev. Garnet E. Parks, pastors there for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Opie Gamble; her second husband, Rev. Parks; and three sons, Paul Steven Parks, Thomas Van Parks and Roger Dean Gamble. Survivors include two children: her son, Morris Gamble and his wife, Toni, of Laton, California; and her daughter, Christina Kay Duvall and her husband, Harrell (Pete) of Russellville; and a daughter-in-law, Bernice Gamble of California; ten grandchildren, Grant Gamble of Florida, Greg Gamble of California, Steve Gamble, Staci Stockton and Matthew Gamble, all of California, Melissa Bell and Wesley Parks of Fort Smith, Christy Alton of Big Spring, Texas, and Doug Duvall and Judy Summit, both of Russellville; 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on , 16, 2015, at the Grace Chapel Trinity Pentecostal Church, officiated by the Rev. William Flynn and the Rev. James Shipley. Burial will be in Bryants Cove near Pontoon in Conway , by Shinn Service of Russellville. Active pallbearers will be Jerry Vinson, Dennis Vinson, Tyler Brown, Bill Harmon, Lloyd Allen Duvall and Rev. Johnny Hopgood. Honorary pallbearers will be Melvin Vinson, Rev. Kenneth McCucheon, James Smith, Rev. David Tribble and Rev. and Mrs. E. L. Redding. The family will receive friends on evening, from 5-6 p.m., at the funeral home.
