Obituary: MILLBURY – Richard F. Plante, 62, died , 7, 2011 in UMASS Memorial Medical in Worcester, after an illness. He leaves his wife of 39 years, Deborah S. (Brady) Plante; a daughter, Michelle Remuck and her husband, Michael; a son, Richard JR Plante; a brother, E. Bernard Plante and his wife Lynne, all of Millbury; four grandchildren, Kyleigh Plante, Dillon Remuck, Jayce Plante and Adam Remuck; nephews, nieces and cousins. He was born in Worcester, son of Edward A. and Mary Mae E. (Carney) Plante. Richie owned and operated Plante Burial Vault for many years and was an Army veteran during the Vietnam War, serving in Germany. He was a cemetery commissioner in Millbury for 29 years. He was a former Millbury Fire Fighter for 20 years, going through the ranks of Lieutenant, in charge of the rescue squad, Assistant Chief and retired as Fire Chief in 2002. Richie was a life member, captain of the color guard and past commander of the Charles F. Minney VFW Post 3329 and a member of the Devoe-Taylor American Legion Post #9. He was a brother of the Nam Knight Motorcycle Club. Richie enjoyed spending time with his family, especially at Hampton Beach and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles. Richies funeral will be held , Aug. 11th from Mulhane for s, 45 Main St. in Millbury with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St in Millbury. Burial will be in Central in Millbury. Obituary: Renée Plante was a free spirit in life and now in eternal life her spirit truly is free. She died on , 27, 2015 peacefully with family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 60 years old. Renée M. (Gold) Plante was born in Paterson, New Jersey, daughter of Harold M. & Kitty A. Gold, she was raised and educated in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Boston in 1978. She lived over 25 years in Durham and Nottingham, New Hampshire. She loved life and the experiences it blessed her with: travel, Harley Davidson motorcycles; bike rallies including Sturgis and Laconias Bike Week; listening to music, cooking dinners and the company of good friends. Renée told it like it was and was a good soul. Though not blessed with children of her own her nieces and nephews brought her the joy children give parents. Obituary: Oliver A. Plante, 87, of Worcester, died 1, 2015 in Sandalwood , Oxford. His wife of 64 years, T. (Gendron) Plante, died 16, 2014. He is survived by his five daughters, Marie House of Millbury, Diane I. Miller and her husband Robert of Sutton; Arlene Carlson and her husband David of Worcester; Karen Plante of Worcester and Pamela Gunsalus and her husband Mark of Dudley; eight grandchildren, Tina Landry, Tiphanie Gelinas, Heather Carlson, Joshua Carlson, Christopher Carlson, Gregory Gunsalus, Elizabeth Gunsalus and Christina Gunsalus; two great-grandchildren, Jaina and Aydn Gelinas, a sister, Elaine Gendron and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Paul Plante. Oliver was born in Worcester a son of Oliver N. and Ida (Prunier) Plante. Mr. Plante was a Registered Representative many years for the Prudential Insurance Co., and retired in 1989. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Oliver was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and was a member of VFW Post 6907 and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Plante was devoted to Scouting and spent more than 30 years as an adult leader with Millbury Troop 108, Boy Scouts of America and received the Silver Beaver Award. He enjoyed reading, woodworking and cruising, He also enjoyed the outdoors especially sailing, camping and hiking. He loved spending time with his family. Obituary: Normand F. Plante died , 10, 2017 at The Terraces in Orleans, MA with his children at his side. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of almost 71 years, Beverly Campbell Plante, in 2011. He leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter Elaine Wright and her husband Stuart of Springfield, MA; and his son Normand "Buddy" Plante and his wife Joan of Eastham, MA. Normand had four much loved grandchildren: Elizabeth Hettrich and her husband David of Delmar, NY; Christopher Wright of Webster, KY; Gregory Plante of Harwich, MA; Julia Plante of Kauai, HI; and one great-granddaughter, Jillian Hettrich. He is also survived by his dear brother Charles Plante and his wife Phyllis of Rumford, RI and several nieces and nephews. Normand was born and raised in Cranston, RI, the son of Amos J. Plante and Clarina (Dionne) Plante, both deceased. He had three brothers, Rene, Aime, and Charles, and two sisters, Henriette and Isabel. His family was very musical and music lessons were part of their lives. Normand studied violin for twelve years and he could play the piano by ear. He was blessed with a lovely singing voice. One of his fondest memories was playing the violin and singing with his brothers and sisters. The love of music stayed with Normand his entire life. He loved all kinds but was especially fond of Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and violinist Nadja Salerno-Sonneberg. Normand graduated from Cranston High School in 1934. He wanted to be an engineer and attended college for one semester before leaving to help support his family during the depression. He joined the Civilian Conservation Corp (the CCC's) in 1935 and was stationed on Cape Cod in Brewster. He was part of the team that helped to develop the woodlands in Brewster into Nickerson State Park. It was while he was stationed in Brewster that he met his future wife, Beverly Campbell, from Eastham. were married on 20, 1940 and shared almost 71 years together. The couple moved to Rhode Island where Normand was employed by Brown and Sharp Corp in Providence, RI. He trained as a tool maker and during WWII he worked in the production of munitions for that company. the war, he took a job with General Electric in Cranston, RI where he was employed as a precision tool and die maker in the wiring device department until his retirement in 1980. Normand loved the preciseness of his work and this carried over into his everyday life. He loved the intricate workings of antique clocks and he found great satisfaction in collecting and repairing them. His home resounded with the chimes of his collection on the hour and half hour. He also refinished furniture, caned chairs, and was a general all around handy man. He could fix almost anything and many times, if he needed a special little part or tool, he would make it. Most importantly, Normand will be remembered as a true gentleman who loved his family. He will always be remembered for the devotion to his wife, especially during the ten years of her illness. He cared for her at home for seven years and then visited every day while she lived at the Terraces. The family would like to express their great appreciation and thanks for the wonderful care that Normand received for almost four years while he lived at the Terraces. The staff is skilled, loving and compassionate. A memorial service will be held on , 22nd at 10 AM at Nickerson in Orleans. Obituary: SEABROOK, N.H.- Mr. Leo J. Plante 77, of Seabrook, N.H., died , 27th, 2014 at the Hunt and Rehabilitation in Danvers. Born in Danvers, he was the son of the late Fred and Melvina (Blanchette) Plante. He was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of the former Holten High School. Mr. Plante continued his education at Coyne Electrical School and Northeastern University. A Chemical Engineer by trade, Leo had been employed for over 37 years with G.T.E. Sylvania in Danvers at its Sylvan St. Plant until the time of his retirement. A member of the Quarter Century Club at Sylvania, Leo was an avid Skiier. He was a member of the Ski Patrol at Mt Abraham in Bethel Maine. He loved the out of doors and skiing in particular. He was an avid Tennis player and cyclist. He was a self-taught piano player and an extraordinary athlete who will be remembered for his athleticism, kind nature and devotion to his family and friends. Leo is survived by his loving companion Cynthia Saulenas of Seabrook, N.H., his daughter Nicole Caden and her husband Edward of Gloucester MA, his sons, Christopher Plante and his wife Marcy of Gloucester, MA and Justin Tyler Plante of Beverly, MA. his three grandchildren, Tucker Plante, McKenzie Plante and Andrew Caden, his sisters Lorrayne Ramsdell of Gloucester, Joane Vaillancourt of Beverly, his brother, Alfred Plante of Melbourne, FL and several nieces and nephews. Obituary: T. (Gendron) Plante, 85, of Worcester passed away , 16, 2014 in Millbury care , 312 Millbury Ave., Millbury. She is survived by her husband of sixty-four years, Oliver A. Plante. She also leaves her five daughters, Marie House of Millbury, Diane I. Miller and her husband Robert of Sutton, Arlene Carlson and her husband David, Karen Plante, all of Worcester and Pamela Gunsalus and her husband Mark of Dudley; eight grandchildren, Tina Landry, Tiphanie Gelinas, Heather Carlson, Joshua Carlson, Christopher Carlson, Gregory Gunsalus, Elizabeth Gunsalus and Christina Gunsalus; two great grandchildren, Jania and Aydn Gelinas ; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Lloyd Gendron and a sister Marjorie Campbell. was born in Worcester a daughter of Oscar and Angelina (Gauthier) Gendron. Mrs. Plante worked as a secretary for the Worcester Public Schools for many years prior to retiring. She graduated from St. Peters High School and Worcester Business School. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. She also was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW 6907 for many years. s love of people and her family (husband, children and grandchildren) extended out beyond her through her interests and activities. She enjoyed being outdoors, whether gardening, camping or traveling to the ocean and abroad. She was a crafter; knitting, crocheting, cake decorating, woodworking or painting for her family or others. She loved dancing and music; listening or playing the piano. As a woman of many talents, her family was the benefactor of her hard work, her love and generosity. The funeral was held on , 22, 2014, from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., with a Mass at 10:30 AM in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton St. Burial was in Notre Dame . Calling hours in the funeral home were held on , 21, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. |
