Obituary: Rose Alma C. (Beauregard) Pelletier, 94, of New Bedford, died , 21, at St. Lukes Hospital after a brief and sudden illness. She was born in Norwich, Connecticut to Adorie and Rose Alma Beauregard, who had both immigrated from Quebec, Canada just a few years earlier. Her mother died at childbirth, and her father soon married Clara (Grenier) Beauregard, the only mother she knew, loved, and cherished since infancy. Mrs. Pelletier was married for nearly 70 years to Robert L. Pelletier. were married in 1940 at St. Anthony of Padua church in New Bedford. lived in their "cute little white house" in the north end of New Bedford before moving together almost two years ago to Hathaway Manor Extended Facility in New Bedford, where she thrived and enjoyed life. had also lived for over two years at The Cedars Assisted Living in Dartmouth, and they also enjoyed many winters at their modest home in Hollywood, Florida. Mrs. Pelletier lived an unpretentious life of love, curiosity, wonder and passion. She loved reading, including the newspaper from front to back, and she enjoyed playing the organ or piano for herself and others, always encouraging a sing-along, or even a dance. She was passionate about learning, and about history, the exploits of the Marquis de Lafayette, the plight of Native Americans, and of her Franco-American culture and her beloved French language. She volunteered with the girl scouts, at area hospitals, and she enjoyed knitting baby hats and booties, which she donated to hospitals or sent the Native American missions in the West. Over the years she was affiliated with the New Bedford Driving Club, The Catholic Womens Club, La Ligue des Présidents, Les Dames Patronesses, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus, among others. Before she was married, she worked as a hairdresser at Hackings and at her sisters business, Violas Beauty Salon, both on Acushnet Avenue in the north end. In addition to her husband, she leaves behind three children: daughter Pauline Cormier and her husband Ronald of Melbourne, Florida, and their three children, Garrett Cormier and his wife Betty Lou of Taylorsville, North Carolina, and great grand-children Hailey Cormier of Fairhaven, MA and Evelyn Cormier of Taylorsville, NC, granddaughter Christine Viola Rose Cormier of Portland, Oregon, and granddaughter Angela Cormier and her children Jayden and Kamryn Cormier, all of Palm Bay, Florida. She also leaves behind her daughter Suzanne Pelletier and her husband Giulio Massano of North Dartmouth, and son Michael Pelletier and his companion Jeri Jane Oliver of Hawthorne, California. Mrs. Pelletier was also the mother of the late Robert L. Pelletier, Jr. of Hollywood, Florida, and the sister of Viola (Beauregard) Messier and Della (Beauregard) Cardinal, both formerly of New Bedford. The family would like to acknowledge the loving and compassionate care given over the years by the staffs at Fairhaven Senior Social Day , Active Day of Fairhaven, Brandon Woods Adult Day , The Cedars Assisted Living, the staff of Senior Whole , Coastline Elderly Services, and the numerous home health aides who added so much to her life. We would like to especially thank Dr. Ahmet Dirican of New Bedford, the entire wonderful staff at Hathaway Manor who made her last years so joyous, and the truly compassionate, caring, and efficient staff at St. Lukes hospital, from the emergency room to palliative care. We thank them all, in addition to all those we may have overlooked. Mrs. Pelletier truly lived a life of love, simplicity, courage, and tenacity, and even though she is now gone from this earth, her spirit lives on in the lives of those who were touched by hers. Her Family will receive friends on , 26, 2010 in the Waring-Sullivan of Memorial Tribute at Fairlawn, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven from 10-11am prior to a Service at 11am in the funeral home. A brief service will then follow at the chapel of Sacred Hearts in New Bedford. |

Obituary: Robert L. Pelletier, 98, of New Bedford died of natural causes on , 28, 2015 at Hathaway Manor Facility, where he had lived since 2006. He was the husband of the late Rose Alma Beauregard Pelletier. Born in Attleboro, MA, he was the son of the late Raoul J. Pelletier and Dora (Jourdanais) and the step-son of Rose (Couet) Pelletier. He was a communicant of St. Marys Church. Until his retirement in 1980, Mr. Pelletier had been a co-proprietor of R.J. Pelletier, Inc., a family business since 1924, with his twin brother, the late Raoul Ralph A. Pelletier. He was also the proprietor of Pelletier Travel Service of New Bedford and Wareham, MA. Mr. Pelletier enjoyed spending his winters in Hollywood, Florida with his wife, Rose Alma, of 69 years. He also enjoyed traveling and was involved in several travel-related organizations. He was a past Grand Knight of the McMahon Assembly, No. 151, Knights of Columbus, and a founding member of Le Club Richelieu de New Bedford. He was also involved in La Ligue Civic, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Alhambra Leon Caravan 122, Boy Scout Troup 24 Cachalot District, Independent Garage Owners, the Automotive Maintenance Association, the New Bedford Industrial Development Commission, and the New Bedford Airport Commission. He is survived by a daughter, Suzanne J. Pelletier of Dartmouth, MA, and a son, Michael R. Pelletier, of Los Angeles, CA. He was also the father of the late Robert L. Pelletier, Jr. of Hollywood, FL, and Pauline Pelletier Cormier of Melbourne, FL. Additional survivors include his three grandchildren, Garrett R. Cormier of Hickory NC, Viola Christine Cormier of Portland, OR, and Angela Pauline Cormier, of Palm Bay, FL., and three great-grandchildren, Jayden and Kamryn Cormier of Palm Bay, FL, and Hailey B. Cormier of Acushnet, MA. In addition to his wife, his twin brother, Ralph, and two of his children, he was predeceased by his brother Frederick Pelletier and a sister Jean Sevier. Visiting hours will be held on , 11, 2015 from 9-11 A.M. , with a Service at 10 A.M. in the Rock , 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Burial will be private. Obituary: ROBERT J. PELLETIER, SR. Robert Joseph Pelletier, Sr. 81, passed away at his home in Spencer, MA. on 18,2014 after a brief illness. He is survived by his beloved wife of 12 years, Louise (Nadeau Jerome) Pelletier; two daughters, Robin, wife of Robert Milburn, Jr., of Winter Park, FL. and Rhonda, wife of David Sims, of Columbiana, AL.; two sons, Robert J. Pelletier, Jr. and wife Wanda, of Graysville, AL. and Cyrus Pelletier and wife Mandy, of Cibolo, TX; a sister, Marion Newton of Mineral Springs, Arkansas; his step children Richard Jerome, Jr. and wife Jaime (Martin) of Dudley, MA: Jason Jerome and wife Lana (Benoit) of Spencer, MA, and Jennifer (Jerome) wife of Travis Reilly, of Spencer, MA., 17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was born on 8/2/1933 in Niantic, CT. He attended school in Stoninghton, CT. and graduated from Stonington High School. He entered the Navy as a Submariner at the age of 19 and was stationed at the Navy Sub Base in New London, Groton, CT. He served as a chef/cook on submarines for 20 years. He served on diesel and nuclear subs. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He received the Good Conduct Award (fifth) for service ending Nov. 15, 1970/SSBN Deterrent Patrol Insignia/National Defense Service Medal (second award). retiring from the Navy, he settled in Orlando, FL. where he worked in the bakery at Disney World then in Document Control, for a total of 21 years. retiring from Disney World he worked for different car rental companies in Orlando. He is predeceased by his parents, Edward & Jessie Richards; his first wife, Florence B. (Cady) and his second wife Georgianna (Hensell); his sister, Dorothy A. (Richards) Simoncini and two brother-in-laws, Anthony Simoncini, husband of his sister Dorothy and Alton R. Newton, husband of his sister Marion, and his nephew James E. Newton, son of Marion and Alton Newton; his grandson, Joshua, son of Robin and Robert Milburn, Jr. He also is predeceased by his firstborn son at birth. A Christian Burial Mass will be held at St. Patrick Church in Mystic, CT. on 3,2015, at 10;00 AM.
