Obituary: Nancy B. Pierce, 88, of Louisville, passed away on 14, 2011. Mrs. Pierce was born in Spencer , KY on 8th, 1923 to her parents, Willie and Ollie Truax Martin, who preceded her in death. Obituary: Matthew Alan Pierce, 40, of Grandview, IN, celebrated poet, published author, and much loved son and brother, completed his quest for earthly knowledge on 26, 2009 and went on to do what he loved to do, explore whats on the other side. His love of the written word earned him many awards, among them the Prometheus—Muse of Fire award in 2000 from the National Famous Poets Society. He was proudest of his horror novels. He considered them his children because he said it took forever to produce them and he never quit worrying about them once they have left the nest. He loved drama, suspense, and mystery. He always looked back fondly on the days when he was with the Rose Curtain Players and the plays that he acted in. His accomplishments there earned him a spot in the Whos Who Among High School Students in 1987-88. He wrote and staged several plays in his lifetime. He is survived by his parents Lawrence and Mary Pierce, and his grandmother Margaret Bullington, all of Owensboro, his siblings, Tracy Pierce, Mary Alice Pierce, and Mark (Melissa) Pierce, his beloved nephews and niece, Trevor and Mark Alexander, and Emily Pierce, all of Grandview, his stepsons, Daniel, Damein, and Dillion Kolley, all of Boonville, IN, and many other family and friends. Services will be 1:00 P.M. , 29 in the Chapel of Rosehill with burial following. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. and after 11:00 A.M. at Glenn and Crematory. She was a retired food service employee where she had been a top-notch cook and manager for The Morrisons Cafeteria chain in several southern districts including the Owensboro Towne Square location, Evansville, In., and Charlottesville, Virginia. She enjoyed traveling and was proud of the fact that she had been to almost all 50 states. Mary was of the Baptist faith and spent countless hours every day reading her bible. She was an avid crossword puzzle connoisseur and she would amaze you with her completion record and knowledge of obscure words. Obituary: Mark Anthony Pierce, 43, of Owensboro, passed away 19, 2014 at his home. He was born 23, 1971 in Owensboro to the late Lawrence and Mary Bullington Pierce. Mark was employed most of his life as a landscaper and gardener (growing things and building landscapes were his passion). He enjoyed riding with his dad on long distance runs in the semi and took great pride in the amount of the United States that he had seen. Mark loved fishing and camping and enjoyed sharing those things with his children. He enjoyed hard rock and heavy metal music and was thrilled when he was able to share that with his children as they got older by chaperoning them to many concerts. Mark was preceded in death also by his brother, Matthew Alan Pierce and his grandparents, Lawrence and Lena Pierce and Mose and Margaret Bullington. Surviving are his sons, Trevor and Mark Alexander Pierce; daughter, Emily Pierce; honorary daughter, Desiree Clark; sisters, Tracy and Mary Alice Pierce all of Grandview, IN; companion, Tammy Williams; uncle, Larry Bullington both of Owensboro; ex-partners, Melissa Pierce of Grandview, Christina Martinez and Wendy Shupp both of Owensboro; numerous cousins; and countless friends. Obituary: Lawrence Edward Pierce, Jr. 71 of Owensboro passed away May 2, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Owensboro on Mar. 6, 1943 to Lawrence and Lena Pierce. He served in the United States Air Force during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was employed at a China Factory in the 60s, The Chicago Tribune in the 70s and was a long distance semi-truck driver from the 80s until he retired. He enjoyed driving the semi \Papaws Big Truck\ and was proud of the fact that he had been to almost all 50 states. Larry was of the Baptist faith and spent countless hours every day reading his bible. He loved singing Gospel, Charlie Pride, and George Jones songs. He could Karaoke anytime someone was up for the challenge. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Margaret Bullington Pierce, his son, Matthew Alan Pierce, his parents, Lawrence and Lena Pierce, and all of his 5 sisters: Dorothy, Mary, Betty, Nellie, and Ramona. He is survived by his son Mark A. Pierce (Tammy Williams) of Owensboro, his daughters Tracy Pierce and Mary Alice Pierce of Grandview, IN, his daughter-in-law Melissa Pierce of Grandview, In., his three grandchildren: Trevor A. Pierce of Owensboro, Mark Alexander Pierce and Emily K. Pierce of Grandview, In., his honorary granddaughter Desiree Clark of Grandview, In,, his mother-in law, Margaret Bullington of Rockport, In (formerly of Owensboro), numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Airforce Memorial Fund Services will be 2:00 pm May 5, 2014 at Glenn and Crematory. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm on and after 12:00 noon on . Burial will follow at Rosehill Condolences may be left at www.glennfuneralhome.com
