Obituary: James Clayton Payne, Jr., 62, of Utica passed away , May 3, 2009 at the Owensboro Medical System. Born in Hancock on 21, 1947, Mr. Payne was retired from W.R. Grace where he was an extruder operator for 35 years; was a member of SS Joseph and Paul Catholic Church where he was a Eucharistic Minister, Hospitality Minister and Sacristan Minister; was a lifetime member of Bassmasters International; and was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, refinishing furniture, was an avid UK fan and, especially, enjoyed spending time with his grandchldren. Mr. Payne was preceded in death by his father, James Payne, Sr. in 1971. Obituary: Mr. Harmon Payne age 85 of Flat Lick, KY departed this life on , 8, 2015 in the Pineville Community Hospital. He was the son of Robert Horton Payne and Cordia Garland Payne born to them on 3, 1931 in Knox Co. On 8, 1952, he united in marriage with Retha Brown and to this union four children were born. Mr. Payne was a coal miner and a member of the Old Flat Lick Baptist church. He is preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, Louanna Payne and Jackie Napier, one brother, Walter Matthew Payne and three sisters, Lydia, Nancy and Julie. Left behind to mourn his passing, his loving wife of sixty three years, Retha Payne of Flat Lick, two sons, Cecil Harmon Payne and wife Patricia Gail of Bucyrus, Ohio and Junior Ray Payne of Heidrick, nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Born 21, 1931, he was the son of the late Richard Harles and Viola Frances Miles Payne. Obituary: GILBERT JEAN DUPPY CECIL PAYNE Known to her family and friends as Duppy, Jean Payne, 81, died , 17, 2008 at home surrounded by her loving family. With her husband of 48 years Dick Cecil (now deceased), she was the co-owner of the Smokehouse restaurant and raised a family of eight children. Later, she was a long time employee of Genes Food Store. A faithful member of Immaculate Catholic Church for many years, she married Maurice Payne, a Daviess farm owner and operator, in 1998. Duppy was a great conversationalist, and her home always had the door open to friends and family. The hospitality shown at the Jude Ranch, the farm once owned by the Cecil family, and the Smokehouse Restaurant will long be remembered by those who enjoyed it. Her circle of love widened in her years at the Payne farm to include step children and grandchildren. Duppy is survived by her husband Maurice, her seven children and their spouses, Bonnie Miller (Tom), Sharon Hart, Herman Cecil (Adelyn), Danny Cecil (Marcela), Tony Cecil (Sheila), Brenda Riddle (George), daughter-in-law Cathy Cecil Zuerner, and Jude Cecil (Lorie). She was also loved by her six step children, Pam Shepherd (Dan), Rodney Payne, Jerry Payne (Bonnie), Joyce Payne, Terry Joe Payne, Tina Guth (Jon), and her 24 grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren, and brothers and sisters, Joe Yeand (Jean), Barbara Norvell (Tom), and Lillian Murphy. Duppy was preceded in death by her first husband Dick Cecil, her son Joey Cecil, grandson John Hart, and son-in-law Bill Hart. Duppy loved to be with people and had a wonderful way of making them a part of her life. She will be greatly missed by those that love her. Our sorrow is mixed with joy as she is now reunited with so many that she loved that have gone before her. Welcome home Mom, we will be waiting for the next big gathering. Services will be 11:00 A.M. , 20, at Immaculate Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection . Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. and after 9:00 A.M. at Glenn . Obituary: Gerald Jerry David Payne, 62, of Owensboro passed away , May 2, 2009 at Owensboro Medical System after a short battle with cancer. He was born in Owensboro on 20, 1946 and was a 1964 graduate of Owensboro Catholic High School. He retired from Premium Allied Tool after 39 years of service. He was also a past member of the National Guard. He was preceded in death by his father, James H. Payne in 1990, a sister Carroll Kaelin in 1964, a brother, Kenny Payne in 1981, a brother-in-law, Philip Thompson in 2005 and a sister-in-law, Gina Thompson in 2003. Jerry was a loving and devoted husband who cherished his wife Becky of 39 years. He was also the loving father of two daughters Leigh Ann and Sara who were his pride and joy. He enjoyed being around many of his close friends who shared his love of camping and fishing. You could often find him tinkering around in his workshop and watching old westerns. Survivors include his wife Becky of 39 years; daughters, Leigh Ann Weisser and her husband Garey and their three children, Garrett, Macey and Avery of Calhoun, KY and Sara Payne and her husband Mika and their three children Cody, Carson and Tavis of Georgetown, KY. He is also survived by his mother, Lucille Payne, and a sister Dorothy Tipmore both of Owensboro; a brother Gordon Payne and his wife Lydia of Calhoun, KY; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Alberta Hagan, sister-in-law, Sandy Thompson, and brother-in-law Bill Thompson and his wife Debbie. services will be 10 a.m. , May 5, 2009 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with burial in Resurrection . Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on and after 8:30 a.m. on at Glenn where prayers will be said at 7 p.m. on . Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
