Obituary: Janine Renee Platzeck, 48, of Hornick, Iowa passed away , 2, 2015 at Mercy Medical in Sioux City, after a long illness. services will be 10:30 A.M. , 7, 2015 at the Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Catie Newman, officiating. Burial will be in Westfork Township at Climbing Hill, Iowa. Visitation will be 9:00 A.M. until service time , 7, 2015 at the Rush Chapel. are under the direction of Rush Family Service, Onawa, Iowa. Janine Renee Platzeck was born May 23, 1966 in Sioux City, Iowa the daughter of Wayne and Joanne (Lussier) Preul. She was raised in Moville, Iowa and in 1984 she was crowned Pork Queen of Woodbury . She graduated from Woodbury Central High School in 1985. Janine was united in marriage to her soul mate, Marty Platzeck on 22, 1993 in Sioux City, Iowa and together they raised three children, Megan, Trevor, and Shannen. Janine enjoyed listening to music, dancing, laughing, playing games with her family, watching movies, canning, collecting wolf memorabilia, and keeping a lovely home for her family. She is survived by her husband, Marty Platzeck of Hornick, IA; her children, Megan (Josh) Ebert of Washta, IA, Trevor Platzeck, and Shannen Platzeck both of Hornick, IA; her four grandchildren, McKenzie, Jeralyne, Easton, and Braelie Ebert all of Washta, IA; her mother, Joanne Preul of Moville, IA; brother, Wade (Jennifer) Preul of Moville, IA; and two nieces, Kiara and Heaven Preul of Moville, IA. She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Preul; aunt, Bernadine Dausel; and cousin, Dennis Lamoureux. Her smile and love for her family will be greatly missed.
