Obituary: Ray Wesley Poynter, age 60, of Greencastle, passed away on , 27, 2015. Born 28, 1955 in Greencastle, he was the son of Elbert Wesley and Era Grace (Burton) Poynter and was a graduate of North Putnam High School. He married Debra (Ridgway) Poynter on 30, 1973. Ray was a farmer; he loved the spring planting and fall harvest seasons. He had a passion to do things right or not do them at all. He loved the land God gave us and loved living the dream of being blessed, having a wonderful family and being a farmer. He loved his family, neighbors, friends, and those that worked with him, they were all family. He was a member of the Putnam Farm Bureau, National Corn and Soybean Grower Associations, and Quails Unlimited. He is survived by his wife, Debra Poynter; son, Ray W. (Heather) Poynter Jr.; a daughter, Kristina (Sean) Shepherd; his mother, Grace Poynter; brothers, Jim Poynter and Tim (Pam) Poynter; sisters, Betty (Louie) Ridgway, Carol (David) Winslow, and Devonna (Jacob Bill) Fogle; grandchildren, Noah and Jonathan Poynter and Cassidy and Matthew Shepherd. He was preceded in death by his Father, a brother, John Poynter; and a sister, Arlene Poynter. services will be held at 2:00 PM on . 30, 2015 at the Bittles and Hurt . Interment will follow at the Clinton Falls . The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM on until time service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in memory to the Putnam Fairgrounds Endowment Fund. |

Obituary: Era Grace Poynter, age 88, of Greencastle, passed away on , 12, 2016. Born 17, 1927 in Wayne , Kentucky, the daughter of John and Lula (McCutcheon) Burton. Grace was a homemaker and a member of the Clinton Falls Community Church. She was a wonderful Christian mother and grandmother; she will be missed by all. Her Children rise up and call her blessed Prov 31:28 She is survived by her children, James Poynter, Betty (Louie) Ridgway, Carolyn (David) Winslow, Timothy (Pam) Poynter, and Devonna (Jacob Bill) Fogle; a sister, Joan Prows; eight grandchildren, Shane (Amy) Poynter, Andrea (John) Taylor, Ray (Heather) Poynter Jr., Kristina (Sean) Shepherd, Bobby (Tiffany) Poynter, Lisa (Ben) Walker, Christopher Fogle, and Laura (Billy) Baker; and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Wesley Poynter; sons, John and Ray Wesley Poynter; a daughter, Arlene Poynter; and her parents. services will be held at 1:00 PM on , 15, 2016 at the Bittles and Hurt . Interment will follow at the Clinton Falls . The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until time of service on at the funeral home.
