Obituary: Wilma Mae Pleuss, 89, passed away on 14, 2014, at Signature care of Newburgh, Indiana. She was born 4, 1924, in Warren, Ohio, to Roy A. and Marie Green. Wilma served in the US Navy during World War II at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina. She also worked as a clerk at Trumbull Municipal Court for a number of years. She was a charter member of Living Lord Lutheran Church in Howland, Ohio. She and her husband spent some wonderful retirement years in Melbourne, Florida. Wilma was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Donald A. Pleuss; and by a brother, Charles Green; and a sister, Genevieve Difford. She is survived by her children, Keith Pleuss of Gulfport, FL; Brian (Cheryl) Pleuss of Newburgh, IN; Linda Pleuss of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Emily (Jeremy) Rash, Erin Pleuss, Gretchen Pleuss, Jared (Sarah) Pleuss, Jessica Pleuss; and by sisters, Cleola (Sterling) Ditchey and Josephine Smith. Obituary: Cheryl Ann (Duffy) Pleuss, 58, departed this world for eternity with her Savior on 6, 2015. She was born 7, 1957, in Kings Lynn Norfolk, England to Charles F. and Clarice Duffy, both of whom preceded her in death. She served her country in the United States Army, assigned to the White House under President Carter in the 70s. In the 80s and 90s she filled administrative roles at St. Marys Hospital in the Physical Therapy and Pharmacy Departments. She spent the remainder of her life being a supporter and a source of joy to her husband, children and grandchildren as well as to a large network of friends and admirers. She was a member of Abundant Life Church of Newburgh. Cheryl is survived by her husband of 29 years, Brian Pleuss, Newburgh; son, Jared (Sarah) Pleuss, Newburgh; daughter, Jessica Pleuss, Newburgh; grandchildren Christian, Charlie and Cohen Pleuss; and by her sister, Charlene (John) Long of Phoenix, AZ. Obituary: RAY RICHARD DICK PLETCHER Ray Richard Dick Pletcher, 92, Patriot, IN., passed away on 16, 2014, 11:05 PM at the Waters of Rising Sun in Rising Sun, Indiana. He was born in Pierceton, Indiana on 6, 1921 to Ray and Iva Pletcher. He married Letha J. Lentz on 14, 1942. Dcik graduated from Pierceton high School in 1939. A star basketball player in high school, he attended Manchester . During his sophomore year, he returned to Pierceton to run the family grocery business after the sudden death of his father. World War II interrupted Dicks family and business life in 1943. He served for 3+ years in the U.S. Army and was stationed on the island of Leyte in the Pacific Theater during his overseas tour of duty. Dicks military service to his country was among his most proud accomplishments. He was the oldest surviving member of the Pierceton American Legion at the time of his death. Dick was the third generation to represent the Pletcher family in the retail grocery business. He and Leitha plus scores of employees operated Pletchers IGA Food for over 50 years. In 1960, they took the bold step of moving the business from downtown and building a modern, 10,000 sq. ft. store on the south edge of town, where it remained until the 1990s. Dick was a passionate member of the community that he grew up in and was one of the many that spent tireless hours promoting it. He and other business owners formed the Pierceton Commercial Club that later became the Chamber of Commerce. He was a 60+ year member of the Masonic Lodge #337, Eastern Star, American Legion Post #258 and the Pierceton First Presbyterian Church. Later, he regularly attended the Patriot Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of 72 years, Letha, Patriot, IN, and his son, Clint (Cheryl) Pletcher, Carmel, IN.; grandchildren; Sarah (Scott) Hampton, Rebecca (Steve) Spears, Tisha (Joe) Pletcher and Kirstin (Joe) Cosgrove; and six great-grandchildren; Ava & Lily Hampton, Pearl Spears, Harper & Story Stephens, Declan Cosgrove; and by a nephew, Tom (Vicki) Pletcher. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, by a brother Paul and by his daughter Rebecca Pletcher Leonard. His family will hold a celebration of Dicks life at a later date.
