Obituary: Mary Marzella Piper, 92, of Lacon died on 13, 2015 at her residence. Born on 27, 1923 in Streator to J.R. and Anne Connor Cahill, she married Charles Piper on 28, 1947 in Lacon. Charlie passed away on 1, 2000. Marzella was a teacher for over 30 years for the Mid- School District, mostly as a Title 1 reading instructor. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Lacon and its Altar & Rosary Society. She also volunteered at St. Josephs as a Pink Lady. Marzella is survived by her children, Anne (Scott) Sprangers of Janesville, WI; Chuck Piper of Galesville, WI; Jim (Becky) Piper of Carlisle, PA; David Piper of Peoria; grandchildren; Stephanie, Chris, Ben, Joe, Connor, Matt, Shelly, Alexis, Colleen, Molly, Dylan, Libby; great grandchildren; Piper, Abigail, Amelia, and Bridgette. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Roger Cahill and her parents. Services will be , 17 at 11 am at Immaculate Conception Church in Lacon, Father Tom Mizeur officiating. Visitation will be on from 5-7 pm at Lenz Memorial in Lacon with a Rosary to be said at 4:30. Burial will be in the Immaculate Conception . Memorials may be made to Catholic Charities or her church. Online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com. The family would like to thank Christie Nelson and Paula Briggs for their caring friendship which allowed Marzella to live her last years with dignity at home. |

Obituary: Larry Lee Piper, Jr., 53, of Oak Run, Illinois passed away at 6:37 P.M. on , 20, 2015 at OSF St. Francis Medical , Peoria, Illinois. Larry was born on 6, 1962 in Harbor City, California, the son of Larry and Karen Piper. He is survived by two sons, Derek Lee Piper of Creve Coeur, MO and Joshua Drew Piper of Springfield, Illinois. He is also survived by his parents; a brother, Lance Piper and wife Denise Piper of Morton, Illinois; a niece, Natasha Piper of Ashland, Illinois; and a nephew, Nicholas Piper of Morton, Illinois. He attended North Greene Schools in White Hall, Illinois and college at Lewis and Clark Community and Eastern Illinois University. He was employed at Hanson Engineering firm in Springfield, Illinois for twenty years and presently employed as dairy manager at Hy-Vee in Galesburg, Illinois. He attended The Oaks Community Church and had many hobbies and interests: model railroading, fishing, camping, and antiquing. He was an avid Cardinal fan, and more than anything loved spending time with his two sons. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at The Oaks Community Church in Oak Run on , 5, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. A visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. , 5, 2015 at the church.
