Obituary: GERTRUDE F. PHIPPS PERSINGER MACON - Gertrude F. Phipps Persinger was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on morning, 19, 2010. services and a celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. at Houston Road Church of God of Prophecy with the Rev. Foster Bell and the Rev. Clinton Fields officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Cleveland, TN at 11 a.m. . Visitation will be from 5 until 7 PM at Snows Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue. Born on 30, 1916 in Trion, GA the daughter of the late Joseph William Shelton and Lithia Davis Shelton, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bishop Roy H. Phipps. were called into the ministry in 1935 and worked tirelessly in mission work and also pastoring churches and as State Superintendent for the Church of God of Prophecy overseeing many churches in Alabama, Kansas, Kentucky, Georgia, Virginia and Oklahoma. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Stanford Lewis Persinger and children, Roy Harper Phipps, Jr. and Gloria Arlene Phipps and her granddaughter, Norma Adams. Mrs. Persinger was affectionately known as the Energizer Bunny for her many, many hours of work in Senior Citizens Groups and also for her volunteer work. She volunteered for the Medical , American Red Cross, Alzheimers Association and Childrens Miracle Network Telethon. But at the age of 85, she found the true love of her volunteer work at the Medical Auxiliary - Pink Lady at the Childrens Hospital where she volunteered over 3000 hours .all after the age of 85. A wonderful devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she is survived by her children, Janice (Johnnie) Neal, Juanita (Larry) Weeks, Mary (Johnny) Jernigan, Rose (Buddy) Pierce and Rev. Foster (Sheila) Bell; six grandchildren including, Jada (Mike) Harris and Jonathan (Linette) Neal; twenty-one great grandchildren. Snows Memorial Chapel and Cremation Services, Pio Nono Avenue has charge of arrangements. |

Obituary: Mrs. Audrey Kinley Pershing of Sandy Springs, GA, passed away from natural causes on 30, 2015. Mrs. Pershing was born in Des Moines, IA, in 1921 and married her late husband, Robert L. Pershing, also of Des Moines, in 1943. The couple moved to Sandy Springs in 1961 where they were active in the Sandy Springs United Methodist Church. Mrs. Pershing is survived by her two sons, Richard and David, and their two spouses, Susan and Joan Pershing, of Atlanta, GA. Additionally, she is survived by her two grandchildren, Robert Pershing and Courtney Davies and their spouses, Carol Pershing and Ethan Davies. Mrs. Pershing also had four great-grandchildren, Christopher, Sabrina, and Anna Pershing and Arrington Davies. Mrs. Pershing had one sister, the late Phyllis Codner, and is survived by her niece and nephew, Shela Baird and Stephen Codner, and their families. In her later life, Mrs. Pershing resided at Huntcliff Summit in Sandy Springs where she enjoyed playing bridge, pinochle, and dominoes and visiting with her many friends and neighbors. She also enjoyed spending holidays and celebrations with the families of her daughters-in-law, the Patricks and Wallaces. A family graveside memorial service and interment will be held at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial donations be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure (3525 Piedmont Road, Building 5, Suite 215, Atlanta, GA 30305) or The American Cancer Society (P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123). |

Obituary: Carlton Bird Persall, Jr., age 61, of Brunswick, died , 15, 2014. Carl was a native of Ware where he was a member of Emerson Park Baptist Church. He worked as a Logistics Specialist for Pinova for 38 years. He loved his job and his work family. In his spare time he enjoyed riding around on his John Deere tractor, remote controlled airplanes and cars and playing on his Dell computer. Carl was an awesome chef who specialized in preparing fresh foods. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlton and Carra Persall; his son, Carlton Bird Persall, III; a brother, Robert J. Moon and a sister, Emma Mae Bryant. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Utley Persall of Brunswick; two step-children, Frances Arlene Teston of Jesup and Michael Jason Nichols of Wrightsville; three sisters, Shirley Herren-Crosby of Waycross, Alice Musgrove (Paul ) of Westgreen, GA and Harriett Susie Sands also of Westgreen; a brother, Billy Russell Persall of Waynesville and several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Edo Miller and Sons . The funeral service will be at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons with Rev. David Yarborough officiating. Active pallbearers will be Russell Waters, Wayne Waters, Derek Addis, Daron Addis, Sylvester Womack and Lee Shook. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons and employees of Pinova.
