Obituary: Mr. William Curtis Partin age 74, and Mrs. Dorothy Campbell Partin age 76, both of Toccoa, GA, passed away , 8, 2015. Curtis was born 13, 1941 in Cleveland, GA to the late Marion and Pauline Dorsey Partin. He was a member of Nails Creek Baptist Church and was a United States Marine Corps Veteran. Dorothy was born May 10, 1938 in Toccoa to the late James Hubert and Mary Fowler Campbell. She was a member of Nails Creek Baptist Church and was a seamstress. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Curtis and Sherry Partin of Carnesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Rita and Mark Helms of Raleigh, NC, and Cynthia and George Miller of Eastanollee; grandchildren, Christopher and Lauren Partin, Kristin Partin, and Ryan Partin; and a great-grandchild, Mason Partin; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Curtis is survived by 6 brothers and 2 sisters. Dorothy is survived by 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Curtis and Dorothy were preceded in death by a son, Mark Deal. Curtis was preceded in death by a sister. Dorothy was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. services will be held at two oclock , 13, 2015 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Tommy Childress and the Rev. Dwayne Eller officiating. Burial will follow at Roselane with military honors provided for Mr. Partin by the United States Marine Corps. The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 2pm – 4pm and 7pm – 9pm , 12, 2015 Whitlock Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements. |

Obituary: Mrs. Ida Brooks Parten, 94, of Highway 145 Carnesville, GA passed away , 05, 2014 at her daughters home. Mrs. Parten was born in Royston, GA on 22, 1920, daughter of the late Reeves Perry and Annie Rebecca York Brooks. She was owner and operator of Idas Cakes and Crafts and was a member of the Zidon Baptist Church but attended Hunters Creek Baptist Church in Toccoa, GA. Mrs. Parten was preceded in death by her husband, the late Wilburn (Bill) Parten. Survivors include; sons & daughters-in-law, John & Doyie Parten of Carnesville, GA and Thomas and Glenda Parten of Royston, GA; daughters & sons-in-law, Eloise Peace of Royston, GA, Oneita and Joe McElreath of Danielsville, GA and Beverly and Roger Bentley of Carnesville, GA. She is survived by nineteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and ten great great-grandchildren. Mrs. Parten is also survived by her best friend and baby, her little dog Abby. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Parten was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Denise (De-De) McElreath and two brothers, Robert and Lonnie Brooks. services for Mrs. Parten will be held at 3:00 P.M., , 07, 2014 at the Pruitt Chapel with Rev. Ben Huff, Rev. Todd West, Rev. Andy Bond and Mr. Bo Crump officiating. Interment will follow in the Zidon Baptist Church in Royston, GA.
