Obituary: With great sadness and a heavy heart we must tell you all that the Lord has called home one of his sons. Brian Arthur Pung, Born 23rd 1955, passed away unexpectedly 25th, 2014 just before turning 59 years of age. A beloved and generous Man, Son, Brother, and Friend. A devoted husband of 36 years to his wife Peggy, loving and amazing father to his children Michelle, Heather, Jessica, Brian and Andrea. He worked tirelessly to provide a life for his family and in doing so provided for and influenced the lives of his employees and all that surrounded him. All that met him would encounter his warm smile and firm handshake. He was a confident man whom by simply living his life honestly and rooted in faith, garnered the respect and admiration of anyone who had the privilege to know him. The world has lost a wonderful Man all too soon, the shoes he leaves behind will prove to be simply too large to fill. Our father always put his faith in his Lord Almighty God, so we gain comfort knowing he is with his Creator wishing he could be here to comfort us all through this, our most difficult time. As Psalm 27:14 says, “Wait on the Lord, be of good courage, and HE shall strengthen thine heart. Wait, I say, on the LORD!” May the Lord grant us all strength and comfort our hearts knowing he is with loved ones, in a place with no pain or suffering, at the gates of his new eternal home. May we all live our lives so we can be reunited with him again someday, as we have not lost him, he is waiting for the day we all come home and can feel his warm embrace once more. Our family appreciates all of your thoughts and prayers as we cope with our tragic loss. Thank you all for your kind words and friendship. We will miss you, Dad. Obituary: Boris (Buzz) Pundick was born on 3, 1918 in Brooklyn, NY to Meyer and Mildred (Brody) Pundick. Meyer Pundick died in the 1918 flu epidemic in NYC. Boris attended Brooklyn Polytechnic High School and graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a BS in mechanical engineering. Boris married Vivian Puckett in 1942 in Atlanta, GA. had two children, Abby (Pundick) Vanderwood and Douglas Pundick, Vivian died in Sarasota in 2001. had two grandchildren David Vanderwood and wife Jimmie and Dana McFadden and husband Patrick and four great grandchildren Coe and John Vanderwood and Katy and Logan McFadden. Boris worked at General Electric for 22 years. He was manager of control and guidance engineering for guided missile systems at GE’s headquarters in Schenectady, NY. He was then program manager and special director of projects with GE’s Outdoor Lighting Systems Department in Hendersonville, NC. He also worked at the GE plants in Salem, MA and Utica, NY. leaving GE he became manager of manufacturing at Magnavox Corporation in Urbana-Champaign, IL, and was then named general manager of Hammarlund Manufacturing in Ashville, NC which produced communication equipment, and military and commercial electronic products. Boris then worked for Environment One in Schenectady, NY and National Radio in Malden, Massachusetts. Boris and Vivian lived for many years in Marblehead, MA. Boris has been an active member of the Unitarian Universalist Church all of his life. He was an avid sailor and was a member of the Otsego Sailing Club in Cooperstown, NY and the Boston Yacht Club in Marblehead, MA. Boris lived with his life partner, Joyce Schneider, at Lakehouse West for several years prior to moving to Heron House. A memorial service will be held on Sun. Dec. 20th at 2:00 P.M. at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Sarasota, 3975 Fruitville Road, Sarasota, FL 34232. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Church. |

Obituary: Punda, Patricia “Gay”, 73, of Largo, passed away on 10, 2017 surrounded by her children. Born in Washington DC, Gay moved to Florida at age 11. She spent most of her life in Pinellas Park and St. Petersburg with her husband, Samuel J. Punda. She was married to Sam on 26, 1961, until widowed after 39 amazing years of marriage. Gay’s life included being an avid reader, ballet as a child, raising show collies and ice skating. She spent her life caring for others as a Nurse for 40 years. Her greatest love was her husband, Sam, and her children. Gay is survived by her sons, Samuel Punda (wife Linda) and Steven Punda (longtime girlfriend Debbie Well); daugthers, Suzie Wilson and Staci Esquinaldo (husband Bruce); 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 5 siblings. Obituary: Thomas G. Tom Pumphrey, age 84, passed away on 18, 2017 at Cypress Village in Jacksonville, FL. He was born on 30, 1933 in Miami, FL to Clyde and Grace Pumphrey. He moved to Jacksonville in 1946. Tom graduated from Robert E. Lee High School , class of 1951 and graduated from Jacksonville University in the first 4 year graduation class, 1959. Prior to retirement Mr. Pumphrey was Assistant Manager with Astor Products, a subsidiary of Winn Dixie, for 33 years. He was a member of the United States Tea Association, where he met with other tea producers from many countries. Pat & Tom enjoyed frequent travels abroad and were fortunate to have friends in these countries. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Pat Rogers Pumphrey , three daughters, Sara Pumphrey Margeson (Kevin) of Lakeland, F; Elizabeth Pumphrey Wells (Tom) of Tallahassee, FL and Cheryl Pumphrey Philips (Scot) of Jacksonville, FL. He is also survived by his brother, Jay Pumphrey (Louise) of Jacksonville, FL. ; 8 grandchildren, a grandangel and 3 great-grandsons. He served as Junior Warden on the Vestry for The Church of the Good Shepherd. Jacksonville, FL. retirement, Tom & Pat moved from Avondale to Ponte Vedra Beach, where he enjoyed golf with the Ponte Vedra Mens Golf Association. He was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, an active member of the Mayport Council, Navy League of the United States.
