Obituary: Psofimis, Lycourgos (Louie) 1932-2016. Louie died peacefully in his sleep on 27th. He leaves behind his loving wife of 57 years, Helen Psofimis. He was a devoted father to his three children: Anna Stylianou, Nicolas Psofimis and Michael Psofimis. He was a loving grandfather to eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. He also leaves behind his sister, Sophia Karanicolas and an extended family he loved dearly. He had a love for golfing, cooking, and entertaining. Obituary: KATHLEEN ARATIS PSALMONDS (née HICKS) died peacefully in Tampa, Florida on 25, 2016, at the age of 81. Kathleen was born in Qulin Missouri on 7, 1935 to the late William and Onie Hicks, and grew up on the family farm. She spent her summers harvesting cotton by hand; the work was hot and hard but she cherished working along side her family. In 1953, she married Buel Psalmonds and moved to Bradenton, Florida where she lived for the majority of her life. Kathleen always had a warm smile and welcome to visitors at her door, and time for conversation and well wishes. She proudly displayed a family portrait of her and her first and only love Buel Psalmonds standing proudly with their four (living) children, Michael William, Erma Lee, Glenda Joy and David Buel, over her family room couch. were her pride and joy and she took satisfaction in being surrounded by pictures of them and their children and eventually her grandchildrens children. On her table next to her well creased bible were pictures of her grandchildren, Jessica Lee Hill, James Lee Jr., and Emily Switlyk. Across the room in her were photos carefully spaced on her wall of her great grandchildren Rachel and Paisley Hill, Maximus and Leonardo Switlyk, and Taylor Lee. When she couldn be with her family she knitted in this room surrounded by them. She knitted mittens for school children (in her native MO); she enjoyed creating them almost as much as she enjoyed the crayon written messages of appreciation they would send in return. She loved moments she was able to spend drinking coffee and reminiscing with her family especially any moments she was able to squeeze in with her great-grandchildren. She enjoyed telling silly stories of her family growing up as well as the fun times she remembered with her grandchildren when they were kids. Notably, Kathleen made delicious homemade bread. When picking the grandkids up from school, found time for an ice-cream treat. She was a Christmas Cookie champ! Never to be outdone, she spent hours and hours baking with the grandkids to get all the christmas cookies Santa could possibly eat! She enjoyed logic puzzles and card games. Kathleen is survived by her children, Michael & Connie Psalmonds of Lutz, FL, Erma & James Lee, Sr. of Poplar Bluff, MO, Glenda Psalmonds of Poplar Bluff, MO, & David Psalmonds of Lutz, FL, grandchildren James Lee Jr. & Christine Lee of Poplar Bluff, MO , Jessica Lee Hill of Poplar Bluff, MO, and Emily & Andrew Switlyk of San Francisco, CA, great grandchildren Rachel & Paisley Hill of Poplar Bluff, Mo, Taylor Lee, of Poplar Bluff, MO, and Maximus & Leonardo Switlyk of San Francisco, CA. She is also survived by her sisters Barbara Rose, Magdalene Barr, and Mildred Shrum. She was preceded in death by her husband Buel Psalmonds and daughter Donna Psalmonds of Bradenton, Florida. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Lindell and Glen Hicks, as well as sisters, Delphie Davis, Edith Shamblin, Juanita Carroll, and Linda Hicks. The family will receive friends from 10-11 am on , 28, 2016 at Manasota , in Bradenton. A funeral service will follow at 11am at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Manasota Memorial Park. Obituary: Leona Hess Przymylski, 83, beloved wife of the late Sigmund Whitey Przymylski, died peacefully on 26 after a brief illness. Leona was born on 4, 1932, in Greenpoint Brooklyn, the 3rd of nine children to William and Jean Makowski Hess. She married Whitey shortly after graduating from high school and they started their life together on a farm in Yorktown, NY, where Yorktown High School now stands. moved to Hastings-on-Hudson where they ran Whiteys Market, a small neighborhood grocery store. raised their children there and were active in St. Matthews Church as well as the Southside Social Club. then spent many years in Copake, NY, before escaping from the cold and retiring to Haines City, FL. Her family meant the world to her and was reflected by the numerous photos of all that decorated her home. Leona leaves her children Stanley (Ellen) of Mahopac, NY; Richard (Karen) of Haines City, FL; Andrew (Joan) Myhal of Jackson, NJ; Donna (Stephen) Pettit of Lakeville, PA; Sandra (Rudy) Mutter of North Andover, MA.
