Obituary: Eleanor Elizabeth Schubel Preve, 97, of Port Charlotte, FL, passed away on , 24, 2014. She was born 18, 1916 in Newark, NJ. Eleanor married William F. Phil Schubel and together they had five children and 49 happy years of marriage in Freehold, NJ, Macon, GA, and Sarasota, FL. Eleanor was predeceased by her husband, Phil, in 1988. In, 1992, Eleanor met and married Francis Preve. He predeceased her in 2008 after 15 years of marriage in North Port, FL and Port Charlotte, FL. Eleanor was a Roman Catholic and a member of Incarnation Catholic Church in Sarasota, San Pedro Catholic Church in North Port, and St. Charles Borromeo in Port Charlotte. Eleanor was a homemaker and a stay-at-home mom for her five children. She was active in the Sarasota Friendship , Salvation Army, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, and the Womens in Port Charlotte. Eleanor and Fran happily lived at South Port Square in Port Charlotte for many years: 17 and 11 years respectively. Eleanor is survived by her two sons and three daughters, William F. Schubel Jr. (Marie) of Freehold, NJ, Glenn P. Schubel (Elizabeth) of Poultrey, VT, Nancy J. Clark (Richard) of Henderson, NV, Barbara E. Woodry (Terry) of Port Charlotte, and Jean S. Copeman (Ty) of Port Charlotte; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Bruce Scherer of Sarasota; and uncle Ernie Scherer of California. A Memorial Service will be held at South Port Square/Harbor , 23013 Westchester Blvd \ 3rd Floor, Port Charlotte, on , 27th at 3:00pm. Obituary: Wilbert James Prevatt, age 90, passed away peacefully on 1, 2017 in Jacksonville, Florida. Wilbert was born on May 2, 1926 in High Springs, Florida. He was employed with Southern Coastline Railroad SCL, which later became known as CSX, for approximately 42 years. Wilbert was a member of the Heart Haven Baptist Church. He was a loving spouse, father, brother, grandfather, and friend who will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Wilbert is preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Prevatt, and his second wife, Geneva Prevatt. He is survived by his current wife, Gloria Whitty Prevatt; children Cecelia Humphries (Eddy), Terri Denmark (Dallas Smith), James L. Prevatt, and Willie L. Prevatt (Kara); step-daughter, Shirley J. Hazelett; one brother, Jackie Goolsby; sisters, Ina Mae Chemente, Bessie Marie Dawkins, Imogene Varnes, and Dorothy Lavern Brightwell; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. services will be held on , 4, 2017 at 3:00pm at Town and Country . Reverend Don Cooley will serve as officiant. Visitation will be held one hour prior beginning at 2:00pm . Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park. HARDAGE-GIDDENS TOWN AND COUNTRY , 7242 Normandy Boulevard, is serving the family. |
