Obituary: Memorial Service for Kent Y. Poland, 40, of Ormond Beach, who passed away 19 at Florida Hospital, will be 5pm 23 at the chapel of Volusia Memorial , Port Orange. A reception will follow the service at the funeral home. Kent was born in New Smyrna Beach and graduated from New Smyrna High School in 1992. Kent graduated from UCF and received a Masters degree in Business administration from University of Phoenix. He enjoyed cruises, playing Blackjack and was a Star Wars buff. His favorite holiday was Halloween; he enjoyed all sports and was an avid Miami Hurricane fan. Kent was a devoted husband and adored by his children, Jake and Olyvia who loved his special way of saving roaming turtles on the roadside. Survivors include, his wife, Mary Ann Beedle-Poland; two children, Jake Kameron Poland and Olyvia Ann Poland; his mother in law, Mary Beedle, father in law, Bart Beedle; brother in law Robert (Eileen) Beedle; sister in law, Emily and her fiancé, Matt Quigley. Obituary: Irene Z. Poland, 97, passed away on , 13th, 2016. She was a generous and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was born and raised in Dickson City PA. Upon graduation from high school, she went into training to become a baby nurse. She loved being with the babies. During WWII she joined the WACs and was stationed at Walter Reed Hospital where she met her future husband, the late William C. Poland. were married on 14th, 1944. The next year they welcomed their only child, William R. Poland. moving to Anniston, Alabama, she worked for the Army Corps of Engineers in the comptroller’s office. She retired in 1976 and enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters, who loved to hear stories about the olden days. She was an avid reader and enjoyed ceramics. In 1994 she moved to Jacksonville and lived with her son and daughter-in-law until , 2015. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William and Suzanne; her grand-daughters, Kelly Biringer and Rebecca Davisson and her husband Craig; 6 great-grandchildren; her sister, Pearl Levy; her niece, Beverly Rubino, and many other nieces and nephews. Obituary: Aimee M. Poland, 32, of Wilton Manors, Fl passed away on May 10th, 2011. Most important to Aimee was taking care of and spending as much time as possible with her immediate family which includes her husband and daughter. She was the best mother. She was an extraordinary professor at Broward and loved her work. She was proud to teach and encourage her students, friends, and family the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle. She was very energetic and lived a very active life. She was outgoing with lots of personality and loved to laugh and have fun. She enjoyed family time on the beach, bike riding, travelling, and being with her friends. She loved attending concerts especially the Dave Matthews Band. She also spent her time volunteering for several good causes. To cherish her loving memory, she will be missed by her loving husband and daughter, John and Alyssa Poland. She is also survived by her parents, Rosemary and Sam; grandparents, Marylou and Donald Kruise, Elizabeth Shrader; Uncle Bob Kruise; Mother and Father in-law, Janet and Denny Poland; Brother in-law, Scott Poland; Nieces, Courtney, Haley, Mackenzie, Melanie; and one Nephew, Zach and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation will be held 5/14/2011 from 8:30am - 10am at Kraeer-Fairchild at 4061 N. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale, Fl 33308. This will be followed by a Mass services at St. John The Baptist Parish at 4595 Bayview Drive, Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. At 11am. There will also be a service in Levittown, Pennsylvania on May 19th from 3pm - 6pm with more details to follow. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: The Alyssa M. Poland fund at any Wachovia Bank. |
