Obituary: Paul Everett Pletcher, 57, of St. Marks , Fla. went to be with his Lord on morning, 27th, with family members by his side. Paul had a fearless battle with recurring complications due to cancer. He touched the hearts of all those who administered his medical needs at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. Paul was the son of the late Wm. F. Pletcher, Jr. and M. Bernice King Pletcher of Akron, Ohio. Paul was born on 7, 1953, in Ravenna, Ohio. He was preceeded in death by his wife Molly Taylor Pletcher, of Bristol, Fla., and by his stepson, Charles Allen Reddick of Bristol. He is survived by his step son Rex D. Reddick (and wife Laurie), of Bristol, his brothers, William F. Pletcher, III of Leavenworth, Kansas and Timothy K. Pletcher, of Boulder, Colorado; his sisters, Deborah C. Giuliani of Warwick, NY, Nancy L. Bergstresser of Grove City, Ohio, and Karen F. Fuller of Columbus, Ohio; his Fiance, Amy T. McCranie-Read of Wakulla; and nieces and nephews living in Florida, New York and Ohio. As the son of a U.S. Army chaplain, Pauls early years were spent jumping across the United States. He attended college briefly in Colorado before settling in Pine Island, Florida in 1972. attending school in construction and masonary, he opened his own business, Pletcher Construction. Most recently Paul was employed with Masonary Inc. located in Tallahassee. Paul is highly regarded for his quality workmenship and expertise. Paul was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish and play golf when he was with his nephews. Paul was a paramount member of the St. Marks Community, known well for his barbeque pulled pork and outdoor cookouts. Paul was a people person, always enjoying the company of family and friends. Paul is best remembered for his harty laugh, his bright smile and his frequent Phrase, " If you know what Im sayin" and his heart of gold. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in St. Marks. Visitation will be on at Culleys MeadowWood 1737 Riggins Road from 2 to 4 pm and 5 to 7 pm. Services will be held on 2, 2011 at 10:00 am from Grace Lutheran Church 2919 Miccosukee Rd. Graveside Services will be held at 1:30 pm at St. Marks in St. Marks. are under the direction of Culleys MeadowWood , Tallahassee, FL. |

Obituary: Grace Harvey Plessinger was born 4, 1934 to Hubert and Emma (Beebee) Harvey in Logan, Iowa. She grew up riding horses and attended school in Logan. She graduated from Logan High School in 1952. She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a teaching degree. She became a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority while attending college. graduation she moved to San Francisco, California, where she met Phillip Plessinger while he was in the Navy. The couple was married in 1962. a short stint in Sacramento, the couple moved to Logan, Iowa to help manage Harvey Brothers and raise their two daughters. Grace and Phil moved to Omaha, Nebraska and then retired to Naples, Florida in 2002. Grace was an avid bridge player and loved fashion, traveling, having lunch with friends, watching track-and-field events and the University of Nebraska football team. She enjoyed volunteering through church and other philanthropic organizations. She was a long time member of P.E.O., the United Methodist Church and Panhellenic as a Kappa Delta. In 2002, Grace was named the High Priestess of Gravy at the family Thanksgiving dinner, which she richly deserved. She was a kind soul, snappy dresser, had a sympathetic ear and words of encouragement for those who needed it. She had a ready laugh and often surprised unsuspecting dinner guests with an untested recipe. Grace died , May 5, 2017, in Naples, Florida at the age of 82 years, 11 months and one day. Grace was preceded in death by her parents and a baby brother, Robert. She is survived by her loving husband, Phil Plessinger of Naples, Florida; two daughters, Karen and her husband Nick Moore of Lafayette, California and Janet and her husband Michael Goyne of Grand Rapids, Michigan; granddaughters, Olivia Moore and Claire Goyne; sister, Jane Welch of Lafayette, California; and many dear cousins and friends. |
